ok so what i want to know is if you have an acoustic in the background why not play the acoustic seeing as swing life away is n acoustic song. second there is no "right" way to play a song or a part of a song. if you watch some live videos tim doesn't finger pick the intro. personally i play it both ways.

Yes it is 6th open, it adds bass to the other note. Its played in standard, watch, il find a vid of him playing it live and show you, and if I do (which im sure I will) please dont be a prick and deny it, just be a fucking man and admit it, because if im wrong, il admit it to.

I'm a newbie to playing guitar, but I think you're playing it in the wrong tuning, I have mine tuned a half-step down, and it sounds exactly like the real song.

Its ok, Im pretty sure its right on, Click Statistics & Data Located right beside Commentary and click the last link, its Rise Against playing Swing Life Away Live, Listen to that and skip to the end of my vid to where I play the entire intro, It sounds very similar.

actually. watch the rise against videos. the lead(main singer) plays it like this. the other guy on acoustic plays it the chord/harmonic way.

Yep, Anything that can be played on electric can be played on acoustic just mind the there both in the same tuning e.g. Standard Tuning

You haven't revised what you're going to say properly, you didn't get the strumming patters right (I'll admit, that i can't play this song myself - that is why i was watching the vid ;) - but i know what it sounds like) and least of all, i don't get why you played an acoustic peace on an unamplified electric guitar, instead of using the acoustic, that was visible in the background

Well... you see, I didnt take much time on this video, I didnt have everything written down, I was just using my own words while it was recording. The amp was actually on, it was quite low but I didnt want it too loud. Good statement, Why didnt I use the acoustic guitar instead? Well, that is because the acoustic guitar had a broken string which would be quite difficult to tell in the video.

This is actually the correct way. It is very similar of what is used in the official song. The way they played it live with harmonics is quite difference. Anyone who can hear properly can listen to this and listen to the actually song and the tabs will sound very similar. The only reason the sound my differ is because of the amp I was using and camera sound distance. Despite the sound, the tabs are very similar. This video gives excellent performance.
