I wanna start with the warhammer board game as such, but the painting scares the hell out of me because i dont think i can paint for shit.

is it as hard as it looks ? and is making/painting a cybork harder then say a normal ork?

@Boinkstyle I thought the same, i do Warhammer Lotr and i find it alot easier now as the detail can be brought out in a thing called "highlighting" and "washing", search them, watch a few vids and see how u feel now

it might be easier to build them first then spray apint a very thin layer of black dull spray paint them, but if you do good how you do it thats fine :) ...Great video btw :P

Recommendation: Finish basecoating BEFORE you apply the ink, to some this isn't necessary, but it's always a good precaution.

yeps I do . personally I sand my bases first with pva and sand , let them dry and seal them with watered pva then spray the whole model chaos black.

any bits you miss are best touched up with paint rather than keeping spraying on more paint or the details will get clogged up. also dont hold the spray can too close to the model for the same reason.hope that helps

good way but with the new paints new the skin narlock green then apply a wash of thraka green and for the metal just bolt gun metal then debab black and go over again on some areas to give a more worn effect

i have a huge fantasy orc army.

to pump out the models quickly i just do a goblin green coat, then wash it with dark green ink rubbing most of it away then roughly highlighting/ drybrushing a mix of goblin green and white, idk the mix just made it in an old pot of dried paint. They look atlot better than this way

Nice one, nut in my opinion, orks shouldnt be blue the skin looks much better with knarlock green and a thraka green wash... For the horns and teeth i use bleached bon too, but then i wash em with badab black, devlan mud or gryphone sepia; looks much more realistic...

And all in all, my versoin of ork painting takes just the half of the time yours take. And in my opinion it looks better. And yeah, you should colour all the metal parts with tin bitz and then drybrush with boltgun metal... ;-)

I make my Orks more realistic by throwng down a foundation of Calthan Brown then Camo Green and I finish by washing with Ogryn Flesh. Don't hate on it till you've tried it. It looks excellent.

Nice painting man! I noticed how you paint them before they are glued together, I do them after they are glued. and personally, i prefer to do a first layer of snot green on the skin, then a layer of traitor green (made by Formula P3). Just my opinion and I thought I should share

I have (pretty well---modest) painted nine orks and for all their straps I used a simple mix of goblin green and scab red. It's great. just started throwing myself into painting my orc army

anyway i cant get the skin right i tried this method and wasnt that impressed with the finish (final drybrush on skin looked chalky)

and i the other method i used was Goblin green then a drybrush of scorpion green with a wash of dark green ink but that comes out with a dark overall finish with minimal shading

is it better to leave the drybrushing until the end?

and will the final matt varnish finish remove the chalkyness of the finish?

Lol thx, and It depends on the models. For my space marine i do more highlighting, but with my orks I do almost all dry brushing. This is the 'simple' way that I do my orks, most of them i spend more time on them and dry brush everything. And wet blending...i have tried a many of times on my dwarf capes, and failed everytime haha.
