In the early 60's an album of Claude King was released in Australia. it had Would you care; Little Bitty Heart; Pistol Packing momma; I backed out; Give me your love and a few others including his big hits. Lost the vinyl many years ago - has anyone heard these songs? They were very good but now unobtainable.
Same thing happen to another John Wayne movie with The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I think the Gene Pitney song was supposed to be used; but it was decided against it.
This Shreveport-born artist is obviously much more famous for his rendition of "Wolverton Mountain," but about a half-year earlier (in late 1961), he hit the charts with this one, from the movie of the same name.
