ummm this not apple sause?? its more like apple pie with ut the pie crust... srry :C but this is good for stuff like for Kids who dnt like to eat mussy stuff :D
@MizBlueEyed That would be fine, or try agave... I use that if I make it for diabetic family members.. Super sweet but sugar free (and free from crazy chemicals that are in artificial sweeteners).
The recipe is delicious! Along with the apple I put in I also put in a plum. That was amazing! Don't skin the plum though. And when you slice it, do it in fourths. It really absorbs all the flavor and makes it really sweet and when you start tasting the skin it is kind of tarty. Delicious!!
Quick note, use a gripping shelf liner (home depot = 2.99 USD) ..under the plastic cutting board, that way it wont move while you are using the "dangerous" knife. You get a more stable surface for cutting or kneading ..or what ever you use the flexible chopping boards for.
Cooking it with a peel is the same way except that the peels fall off. also when it is done cooking you take a spatula or a spoon and you press it through a strainer and you get apple sauce that looks like it came out of a jar. good idea for babys.
It probably would be. I haven't tried it, though. Brown sugar gives it a more apple pie-like flavor. If you try white sugar, though, let me know! I'm curious how it would turn out.

Do I have to use sugar? Can I just skip it and use the spices?
