all you have to do is put the names to have the char on your game and u dont need to put order or the staged because it is better to have it random

Sounds like you did it right.  Depending on how many characters you have, MUGEN EVE does a run through all the character files before going to the menu select screen. Give it a little time and see what happens. If you are sitting there for longer than 5 minutes, THEN there is a problem.

I had that problem but when I went to the folder of the character, inside was another folder with all the stuff so cut the folder that has the stuff and paste it on top of the one that is in chars folder.

by defaul the keys are ,=a .=b /=c l=x ;=y '=z. These are the keys near enter and the right shift. I like changing them so that my hands are farther apart.

if you cant use some characters this is what you do first open up the folder the chars in, thenif you see another folder inside copy it. click back and paste it where the first folder is. then you got it :d

you are probably having the problem because you did not do the following such as Miyako_Arima, , order=5

Note that the char name must be the same as the info being inputted or else it will get denied, thats what xiayu27 said.

not really fixed actually i learned i can only use zipped files.

when u add chars it doesnt have to be the same name as the .def file

just input this.

foldername/defname.def, then whatever u want

That is correct. This is more so recommended if you are using a character that has multiple .defs. It just saves you a little typing if you are using characters with only one .def. :)

What you got there is the basic default character thing that came along with the screenpack. All you have to do is make a backup copy of the original Select.def, and System.def files by renaming them, like 'Select.bak, and 'System.bak'. in you're Mugen folder before you move the Select and System.def files into you're Mugen folder from the EvE Battle folder in the Data folder.

error mess = displayname in character's .def is not in quotes. Must be in quotes to be recognized. Edit that character's .def. Error reading = means that referenced .def is not properly named. Could be the 'G' in Gambit, or maybe something else. Check to make sure folder name is the same as the character's .def name. Error finding = possible mistake! Characters and stages have their own folders. Use them well. Stages is not recommended to be in the char path.

To play it not fullscreen you gotta change the line "DXmode = Software" (or it might say Hardware) to "DXmode = Windowed"
