@MsPinkleopard Her hair really didn't grow exceptionally fast. You can gain up to 6 inches in 1 year. She achieved shoulder length after one year and now after 2 years she is arm pit length. They key to her current length is that she RETAINED or kept the length tha she achieved by properly taking care of her hair. Hair grows regardless, but if it's breaking and falling out at a faster rate than it's growing it will APPEAR that your hair isn't growing. So you must take care of it.

I really like the different hairstyles that you have worn. I am so bored with my natural hair. My hair is now APL stretched ( naturally hangs below shoulders). When I wear my hair down or out ( after a two strand twist) I get the worst knots!!! It's going on 1.5 years being a natural. I said I would do this until 2012....then a relaxer may be the next step. I am just bored with it all, I need something besides french rolls and buns, and those other styles dont work for me.

How often do you wash with Shampoo? Once a week, or once a month? And how do you feel about deep conditioning every two weeks? Is that fine? And I don't mean to bother you with all these questions, I just want to make sure I'm on the right path taking care of my twa.
. I forgot to mention that I do add oil to my scalp and hair about almost everyday, especially every night at least almost everyday or two. I have a mixture of different oil; I've used extra virgin olive oil, castor oil, carrot oil, and mixture of all of them. Which oil do you recommend using?
Also Herbal Essences Long term relationship conditioner and along with the shampoo and I only shampoo once a month but I co wash everyday and is it bad to co-wash everyday? I do co-wash almost everyday, and idk if it is good. I also started mixing both the herbal essences conditioner with the deep Giovanni conditioner as a co-wash everyday also and I apply the shea moisture and Echo Style gel right after.

Oh how I wish my hair would grow! I have been natural for decades and it is dry, lots of breakage - I even dealt with a few bald spots this past year. Lots of shedding too. I stopped relaxing in Jul '09 also, but my hair is about the length you had in 2010. Grrrrr! I think maybe I don't co-wash/deep condition enough. I hate braids and weaves so protective styling isn't going to help me much. Any styling suggestions to help with retention? I especially need help for winter since wash & go's are out...unless you know of a curl enhancing product that works without starting with dripping wet hair.

Do you have a a tutorial for the style where you have on the dark shades and the black tank top? BTW your hair growth is amazing. I can't seem to get mine to grow.

I stopped relaxing in Jul '09 also, but my hair is about the length you had in 2010. Grrrrr! I think maybe I don't co-wash/deep condition enough. I hate braids and weaves so protective styling isn't going to help me much. Any styling suggestions to help with retention? I especially need help for winter since wash & go's are out...unless you know of a curl enhancing product that works without starting with dripping wet hair.
