  • Don't forget the brillance of the supporting actors.

  • Did he win a tony for this on Broadway?

  • I'm a racist as well, towards all the losers on this site who have nothing better than to rubbish and plaster negative comments towards a wonderful actor. Freedom of rights, I have the right to say how I feel, the right to like who or what I choose.

Racist is the modern word for the minority libertarian types and there weak defense to start trouble.... It's used all to often these days and for the wrong reasons.

Im sure Jimmy felt the same, If you don't like it, have your say and pi ss o ff....

  • six people think they are oh so smart

  • Love this man. The best actor ever. What a shame we got Ronald Reagen instead of James Stewart

  • they could of Easy of expanded this and say.......' did you loose pet, cat or Dog ....called harvey? '

  • This is my favourite movie and James Stewart is marvellous as Elwood!! I have bought the movie twice (!) on DVD but each DVD has a terrible echoing sound and quite a bad picture quality. This clip seem to be of much better quality - where did you get it??

  • i love this movie i could watch it over an over and never get sick of it i also love jimmy stewart a great man

  • Vern! Vern Macklehenny. Did you ever know the Macklehennys, doctor?

:) love it. Find myself quoting that line

  • Juanclanton You Are The Racist

  • I sing about Stewart and others in The Celebrity Song.

  • Well you see I have this little hunch of a problem and that's the one thing, yet I gotchya with half a sac full of fruit and doubled up yet to bloom, watch it. He acted the lesser man with class in a respectable manner, nowadays its all big shots but style never hurts, kudos.

  • zuzu petals

  • Is the 1972 version available on DVD? Also, was that version filmed or videotaped?

  • My favorite movie of all time. Brilliant acting

  • fabulous film, I remember seeing it a few years ago. Wish I could see it again.

  • There is nothing boring, bald, racist or ugly about james stewrart.

he's one of the most sincere wonderful people ever. and even if he were boring...he's pleasant and kind hearted.

and your just a bitter mean ugly person inside and out.

  • hahahaha wow get a life dude.

  • For someone who doesnt like him very much you sure do talk about him alot. haha. he did not wear a wig you dingbat.

you arent in movies are you, doll? noo my great uncle louis b mayer made movies. but then again you don't seem to know anything hahaha. wow so many dingbats now days. Good thing I don't have a youtube account, this one is my husbands old one. no wonder he doesnt use it. girls like you are living proof it's for nitwits.

  • @PeterFirthFan You are a troll. James Stewart was not a racist, but a decent, kind man. Louis Mayer was not a racist either, but you are.

  • @Lonchaneyjrfan1 Louis Mayer was a jerk lol - but no racist. James Stewart was definitely NOT a racist :)

  • Louis b mayer was not a nazi and I know that because he and my grandmother were very close, and my grandmother has pictures of him with plenty jewish people. and no james stewart did not wear a wig. you seriously have some issues hahahaha. and wig or not he still had a beautiful heart. you obviouslt didint make it far in life if all you have to do is go on here EVERYDAY! and down people hahhaa.

  • YOU JUST SAID LOUIS B MAYER WAS RACIST, YOU ASSHOLE, NOT JAMES STEWART! JEEZO PEEZO. REPLY IF YOU WANT BUT i DONT HAVE TIME. EVERY TIME I LOG ON FOR A MINUTE YOU'VE ALREADY REPLIED. GET A LIFE, YOU DAMN DINGBAT

  • Quick, somebody call the asylum, I think we have an escapee! Actually, that's an insult to truly clinically insane people. You, sir, are just an ignorant ass and troll.

  • And you , sir, have been reported for hateful content and abuse. I encourage everybody else to continue to report this hateful person to YT until he is banned.

  • and its funny because I hop on here for about 5 minutes a day to put music on my psp and you've already! replied hahaha and still on!

  • He reminds me so much of Gene Wilder. Same style.

  • ughh WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER THINK OF MAKING A REMAKE?!?!? i want to see someone try to act half as good as the great jimmy stewart does!!! ahh this just gets me mad!! why dont they try to make new movies and leave the classics alone!!!

  • Harvey has a perfect script, Jimmy is absolutely great inside. Why are they making a remake?? It's terrible. :(

  • The best actor ever. I love this man. And I have Harvey for company. Thanks Jimmey

  • "I was walking along Fairfax Street..."

I didn't know this was supposed to be in Los Angeles.

  • It's actually believed to be Denver. The script never specifies, but the author Mary Chase was from Denver and she says that the play takes place "In a city in the West".

  • Great movie that still holds up to this day!

  • Ha! My school's doing a production of this play! Sanderson will have a British accent.

  • I have a friend who does the perfect Jimmy Stewart, lol

  • @jacko821, you should have your friend make a video of the impression and submit it to yuotube.

  • this is the greatest story ever told i love it so much........... and how are you mr. wilson :)

  • Great film! Great actor! This movie always puts me in a wonderful mood. I always watch it during Easter. Decent family entertainment. They sure don't make them like they used to.

  • You may grow up someday boy, but you will never be a man!

  • he did too make it big time! what are you talking about?

  • Jimmy...oh so pleasant.

  • This is my favourite Jimmy Stewart movie. TY so much for putting this up. Damn thing is it reminds me of my little cat I named Harvey after this movie. That's only a bad thing b/c I miss my lil Harvey. This movie is excellent, one of the best classics! Faved this!♥

  • This movie always reminds me of the happy things in life. My cat is named Elwood-but he only reminds me what 'stinks' in life...XD

  • this film teaches great values and has true heart! one for the ages! changed my life

  • and pablo picasso was a sexist womena beating stalinist it did not change the fact he was a great artist..most artists are terrible people.. yet they are still great artists

  • Politically, Stewart was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party and actively campaigned for Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. One of his best friends was Henry Fonda, despite the fact that the two men had very different political ideologies. A political argument in 1947 resulted in a fist fight between them, but the two apparently maintained their friendship by never discussing politics again. There is brief reference to their political differences in their movie The Cheyenne Social Club.

  • That is only a very brief summary of his long involvement in right-wing politics.

  • so? dont people have a right to differ?

sen Robert Byrd a liberal democrat was once in the ku klux klan these are his words know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened

picasso was a stalinist dali supported franco

it is often necessarry to separate the actor orartist from thier personalities

Jane Fonda was a left wing kook

who spent time apologizing for pol pot

  • praising the viet cong who killed millons of their own countryman for totturing american soldiers she was misguided if well meaning she hated war and the fact that america used napalm and the the occasiona mi lai perhaps stweart was well meaning if misguided to the right instead of the left it always annoys me when viet nam vets were so unforgiving to jane she was so hot and i enjoyed her in barbarella and klute the left has commited many cimes you know if you are 14(i doubt it)
  • perhaps you will learn as you gain wisedom to be more forgiving of peoples foibles

    i think your a troll

no one can be as thick as you to say such

    absurd things

    and i should know

  • I love this movie.

  • I can watch this sceene over and over again, and it gets better for every time!

  • This whole scene sums up why Jimmy was one of the best screen actors of all time. So great

  • C: My school is doing this play this year ^^

  • Small world, my school did this play yesterday and is also doing it for another 3 days. And might I say.........IT WAS AN EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!! Dr. Sanderson, Judge Gaffney, Wilson, Kelly, and the MAID were the best parts of the show. EVERYONE ELSE = OVERACTORS WHICH TOTALLY SCREWED UP A WONDERFUL PLAY.

  • The great thing about being pleasant is you don't have to be smart to be pleasant.

  • a very beautiful film jimmy stewart acts superbly as always

  • This is absolutely my favorite comedy ever. Stewart, it goes without saying, is amazing, but Josephine Hull is just perfect, too.

  • I hope I can find a scene with Dr. Chumley somewhere here... when my school did this as the play, I loved our Dr. Chumley. He was so crazy, and the way they made him look really brought out that sort of well-dressed and intelligent psycho thing that I think they were going for.
