This is almost funny. This is actually a recording made by a Norwegian Sámi (Laplander), Terje Tertnes of Karasjok, for Dutch television. Virgin used the recording without permission, and portrayed it as an Indian chant. Virign is currently facing litiation for gross copyright violation. Sámi joik and Indian chanting is quite distinct. Don't let yourself be fooled by Virgin's video.

This is not native American chanting, but the 'joik' of Europe's last indigenous population, the Sámi people (aka Laplanders). The man joiking is from Kárášjohka in northern Norway. The Sámi joik is Europe's oldest surviving vocal tradition.
