@DontForgetIran2010 Yes, you can pick it up from coming in contact with a contaminated item or unknowingly picking up the germs on your hands. Then without thinking, you transfer it to your mouth. It's good to keep your hands away from your face as much as possible. Especially if you've been out doing errands. I use anti-bacterial hand sanitizer when I get a chance.

I use hydrogen peroxide and it really knocks them down. That and Super Lysine +. Both do a great job of getting rid of those nasty sores...

@ripperduck I try to pay closer attention when I start to feel an irritation. Depending on my mood at the time, I'll apply peroxide, alcohol, or an antibiotic cream. Thank you for stopping by.

@ScuzzyStuff Shingles are technically a form of herpes too then, because they only way you can get Shingles is if you previously had chickenpox. The only difference between chickenpox and other forms of herpes is that you can only get chickenpox once

@WeirdoOwl, try not to kiss anyone who has a sore on their lip. Also, the person with the sore should be considerate of others as well. That goes for old aunt Judy too. Be careful about drinking from cups, cans, or bottles of other people.

Parents should never insist their children kiss all aunts and uncles, whether or not they have a sore on their mouth. Kids are people too.

Don't let your babies mouth the handle of store shopping carts!
