Candice is quite good and beautiful, great makeup and art direction. Why don't they remake this? Ch. 11 ThisTV showed it not long ago, it's long especially with ads. Was the book by Mary McCarthy?

@BarkleyConners Candice is indeed good and sensationally beautiful here! A mere 20 years old at the time, she really proved herself as a very fine actress. The book was, as you wrote, by Mary McCarthy. I don't think they'll ever remake this because most producers know it's impossible to improve upon such a classic. However could they come up with the likes of Joan Hackett, Elizabeth Hartman, Shirley Knight, Joanna Pettet and Jessica Walter? No Way!
