Hmm, well as PC Mag rated the Mac Intel system as the best machine for running Windows I find all the anti-Apple comments ironic. As someone who used to custom build PC's and then switched to Mac's in grad school, I will never go back. I used my Mac Pro for everything, including Vista but most software now runs on Mac OS X, such as Quickbooks Pro, Office, etc so it's not just for graphics and design (although ask any photographer and they'll tell you Mac is the way to go).

A good Mac starts at $1199 and thats the iMac. Look at the Gayway One or the Dell XPS One and they are more expensive than the iMac and they have almost the same specs. So shut up. Macs are better than shitty Windows.

People are still arguing this? I would have thought by now all the facts would just be common knowledge. Macs are probably better at video editing and stuff like that, but are horrendous at running any highend video game. Macs are also easier, so noobs have a much better time tinkering with them, also macs don't have to worry about viruses whereas a pc owner has to be semi smart in order to know how to not get viruses in the first place. It is really easy if you know what you are doing.
Why buy an Aston Martin for £100,000 when you can get a Honda for £20,000. They'll both get you from A to B; and if that's all you need then great, get the cheaper one... but their in two entirely different markets. Same with a $2000 Mac and a $400 PC... they're meant to do different things.
Apple=4% of the PC market. It's been about the same and will be FOREVER! I stupidly bought a 5th gen video iPod when they came out--big waste of money. It can't play mpegs/avis etc other than their stupid proprietary format, the video feature was created solely to sell more crap on the iTunes store. And why the hell do I have to navigate back up to the root menu just to turn on SHUFFLE? Stupid interface but boy is it pretty.
You're an idiot. H.264 is not a proprietary format, unlike AVI. By the way, their market share has gone up. They're up to at least 15% of the portables market, and rising.
MPEG-4 isn't proprietary, nor is H.264 (part of MPEG-4). PSPs also use those formats along with many other devices, and both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD use H.264. AVI on the over hand is a container format that was Microsoft's "answer" to the industry standard and cross platform MOV format (not only was it completely pointless, the whole Video for Windows project actually included code stolen from Apple's QuickTime software). That's why it won't play AVI.
People really need help. Unless they're giving away free cars or something, you're out of your mind waiting in line to get into a figgin' store to do NOTHING. People really are sheep, man.

Because the $400 pc will have hardly any hardware, a shorter life span, and won't include any useful software?
Besides, if I bought this macbook out of Dell with the same hardware and similar software, it would have cost me $400 more. 8|

Apple=4% of the PC market. It's been about the same and will be FOREVER! I stupidly bought a 5th gen video iPod when they came out--big waste of money. It can't play mpegs/avis etc other than their stupid proprietary format, the video feature was created solely to sell more crap on the iTunes store. And why the hell do I have to navigate back up to the root menu just to turn on SHUFFLE? Stupid interface but boy is it pretty.

You're an idiot. H.264 is not a proprietary format, unlike AVI. By the way, their market share has gone up. They're up to at least 15% of the portables market, and rising.

MPEG-4 isn't proprietary, nor is H.264 (part of MPEG-4). PSPs also use those formats along with many other devices, and both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD use H.264. AVI on the over hand is a container format that was Microsoft's "answer" to the industry standard and cross platform MOV format (not only was it completely pointless, the whole Video for Windows project actually included code stolen from Apple's QuickTime software). That's why it won't play AVI.

the reason people will do anything to go to an apple store is because macs are soon to be the biggest computer mac-ing company ever and admit it windows just sucks!!! Not to mention the AMAZING architecture of this building! its a one-of-a-kind master piece!!
