I'm pretty sure that if any sequels to this game come out then it will continue to have the anime-still pictures and text. I think they're basing the idea of anime stills and text from some Japanese computer games, that have the same concept of the stills and the text. Although in that format, it's more of a non-action, only text game, I can see how using that format can be a problem during the surgery.
