  • Up to this, I've been using relatively cheap Thomann branded speakers so I'm sure the RCF's or Mackies would be a big jump sound quality wise? I want to spend my budget achieving better sound then worry about upgrading lights etc later.

Looking at the size of that room I'm impressed that a small looking speaker can fill it so easily. Would the RCF's be my best bet on a budget of around €1000?

Thanks again for all the videos...really instructive :-)

  • Great video Joe. I'm about to upgrade my speakers soon and I'm looking at the RCF's that you use in this video and also Mackie SRM 450 MK2, although I've been reading quite a lot of horror stories about quality control on the Mackies, so I'm leaning toward the RCF 312.

Up to this I've been more of a hobbyist, in it for the music more than anything, but I'm getting more and more requests to do parties and events etc... nothing big though..60-120 people usually.

  • Hi what is the names of the first and the second song??????

  • Do you do kakero? please inbox me as dont see comments for some reason, does not let me! thanks Ben

  • What Video Editor did you guys use?

  • @DJessej1 This video was edited in imovie 2011 but the setup demo videos (within this video) were edited in Adobe Premier Pro

  • Hi! Can you please explain to me how you linked and how you control your two Vertigo's? Their not DMX are they?

  • @beansOfJelly They were just running sound to light. No DMX control :)

  • @JLDJUK Awesome...so I take it when you shut them down, you pull the plug? thats what I meant, no controller? I'm considering getting a pair of Chauvet mushrooms!

  • @beansOfJelly Yep no controller needed. They also have a feature when they don't hear any music they automatically turn off. I can highly recommend them. brilliant lights :)

  • nice vid

  • @BGMIX2000 Thanks :)

  • Thanks Mate - Upload one of your Sessions. All we get to see is before and after the show :-(

  • Why not run serato dj intro

  • @woodlawn1998 I like to use Virtual DJ. I have all my music organised in VDJ at the moment. I may move over to serato soon :)

  • cool

  • @kimmy20202020 Thanks :) the song is Ad Brown & Darin Epsilon - Cold Water (Playton Remix)

  • @jldjuk really what template?

  • @flyingfireguy all the graphics were custom done in photo shop. It wasn't a template :)

  • @JLDJUK Ahh i thought so roll over buttons etc etc ? i webs is brillant

  • Hey man you got a response to add some skrims, I just wanted to say that I think your setup looks great the way it is. Not all of us actually like skrims. All of the sudden you start to look just like everyone else. Skrim this and that....I for one enjoy more of the real industrial look of a speaekr stand, funny maybe it's just me. Any way I just wanted to add my opinion on this matter. You always do a great job and cheers to you my friend. One love, DJ Malarky out.

  • @djmalarky I agree with you. Also I find both uplighting and skrims really detract from the main light show and the beams don't show up as well in the smoke. Also I think skrims are way overpriced!!! I could spend that money much better on a laser or some more uplights :) thanks for the comment :)

  • @JLDJUK Agree 100% DJ Malarky out.

  • System looks awesome! I normally run my colorstrips the same way you did the "large system" =) 1 suggestion would be to do the skrim king skirts on the speakers stands. It really cleans up the look alot... oh and a question is what lighting do you run during a slow song?... keep it up!

  • @suarezrh Thanks :) glad you like it. I may get scrims later on. I find that sometimes uplighitng and skrims detract from the main light show. During a slow song I put my scanners into DMX mode and just put them on a spot or slow movement.

  • cool setup! Did u use iWeb to make website

Also What Domain Server thing is your website on????

  • @DMX820 I used iweb to build my website. And I use a company called dot easy for hosting :)

  • 4:35 would be a sick photo

  • @scotth1995 I think we might have taken that angle. I am uploading a video with all the photos later this week :)

  • i bee number 200 yes

  • looks very good weldone :D

  • @dave412r Thanks :)

  • Looking good Joe, very smart setup.

I like what your doing with the sound hire, that looks very cool!

Do you get much people book the sound hire?

What camera was you using.... Looks really clear when showing the lights in the dark?

  • @DjRyanBeeden Glad you like it :) Currently I am not advertising the live sound hire at the moment. I am going to soon but I wanted to get footage of it now to save doing another photo shoot later. The video camera is my new Sony HDR-CX130 and I had it set to the highest possible quality settings :)

  • Looks great.

    DJCob1

  • @DJCob1 Thanks :)

  • What did you use to creat your website?

  • @flyingfireguy Created using software for mac called iweb :)

  • u should get some white scrim kings for your speakers poles and put the mega par profiles under them. It will look so sick!!!

  • @chocolateollie I have been thinking about skrims. I nearly picked up a pair at last years BPM show but I didn't in the end. I might get some soon :) thanks for the suggestion

  • That upload is painfully slow! I find mine slow here in Essex at about 1.5 Mbps and a download of 12 mbps!

  • @brandonwilliams987 12 download!!!! I struggle to get 5!!!!!!

  • whats the Photo shoot for? Did you guys just take pics for your gear

  • @DJessej1 The photos and video are for marketing stuff. For mainly my new website but also other advertisement material.

  • @JLDJUK ohh Ok cool i see. i love you set up its so amassing!! i want to buy some of those light

  • @DJessej1 Thanks :)

  • @JLDJUK is it cheap to buy those lights? because i saw your video on lights and i liked those lights

  • @DJessej1 Some of them are cheaper than others. Just look them up on google. I have the American DJ Vertigo Tri LEDs. The American DJ Duel Gem LED, The Equinox nimbus. The American DJ Mega par profiles and the American DJ Mega Bar LED RC. My scanners are the smart scan 2s but they are no longer manufactured.

  • @JLDJUK alright soudns good ^_^ how much is the rack? and you should do a video on how to set up your lights. thank you

  • Very nice !

  • @inventorlewis Thanks :)

  • @JLDJUK no problem. its always great to get a reply ! :D

  • Very well done my friend it all looks great. One love, DJ Malarky out.

  • @djmalarky cheers :)

  • how much money did all of this cost???

  • @15dsimpson I wouldn't like to say. Its not as if I have just bought the whole lot at once. This has been developed from a much smaller system with me re-investing money back into new gear.

  • @JLDJUK Cool, i was just wondering because im just starting to invest money on gear.

  • omg i love your videos man!

  • @SuperSoundzzz haha thanks :)

  • first!

  • This took forever to upload as its in 1080p!!!! I have a 0.8mbps upload!!!!!
