This guy is a Prophet! Look at the Twin Towers on his album cover. HIP HOP in the 90's was awesome, now its run by those in the secret society... mainstream HIP HOP is DEAD, now REAL HIP HOP is pushed Under Ground
Those (early) ninetees men .. sheiiiiiitttttt, premo in his prime, jeru, nas, mob deep, gangstar.. etc. etc.. that, boys and girls.. was the golden era of hiphop.. no rapper will beat this these days.. Todayz hiphop is sex.. Early hiphop was the orgasm itself..
why are niggas so obsessed with lil wayne??? Why are ya'll talkin about him in EVERY comment section? Ya'll must secretly love him. Anyway, thumbs up to Jeru. This is that Brooklyn shit right here. I'm mad hype right now. Peace to the God Jeru. The god is highly wise and intelligent. Do you hear the jewels the god is dropping on this track. a big difference between old school rap and new school rap is that old school rap's got that cool chill vibe and when i listen to that new school shit i feel not a fuckin thing
i think the government hijacked hip hop in the late 90s. think about it....hip hops entire image was shifted out of nowhere. i dont think its just the 'new generation' even though they support a lot of garbage. i think it all started with how the government made society view hip hop.
@NitsuaNaed I wouldn't put it past them. I can see where you coming from. 90's hip-hop was more about making you think. Now it's basically design to dumb you down. The government doesn't like smart people who thinks for themselves.
@NitsuaNaed are you serious? lol damn that conspiracy shit always fuked up my head, fuk is wrong with you, Hip Hop couldnt have changed if people didnt by the records, come on be serious the Government hijacked hip hop?........Look out everyone the government is out to eat your children..... By the way Jeru is the fukin Truth!
@Brak215 , LoL I agree 100% man! all this NWO/government conspiracy shit gets on my nerves! He also thinks nas was subliminally trying to spell illuminati & stilluminati with illmatic & stillmatic dude's a tool!
@NitsuaNaed Kinda - what happened is the Government co=opted Hip Hop. They couldn't beat it so they bought it. Control the black man. Money talk$. Niggas lost the desire to articulate brilliant lyrics and did anything for the money. That's why you got clowns like Kanye West and whoever else just jumping around onstage with bad attitudes, no skills and big egos... and LOTS of money. @return2hiphop word let me know when that shit drop im not in the loop its dry out here looken for the real shit im alsowaiting on that middle passage by technique
@return2hiphop Just what we need,, a bunch of 42 year olds trying to re-live their past glory. You know it's gonna disappoint like every other album we wait for and look forward to. And for us to forget about Lil Wayne, wouldn't that mean we'd have to like him in the first place? Or do you assume that Lil Wayne fans are suddenly going to abandon him for Jeru the Damaja? lol.. I can't believe you got 44 thumbs up for that dumb comment.. (wait for it) FAIL!!!
@diebel666 exactly,, a good artist "should" get better with age,, but it hardly ever happens.. Jeru's shit sucked when he went on his own.. Once you heard him over non-premier beats it showed how average his mic skills really were.. Premier still makes good beats, but Jerus done.. It's like those old guys at the gym that still think theyre 25, then they end up pulling something,, should have stayed home...
@return2hiphop -That mfer was never on my radar in the first place, man. But, I know you mean well, don't think in your wildest dreams the people who listen to his whack ass will ever switch to the real - they don't like it, cause they can't feel it. @mistapikkles I don't get it.. Amenhotep has no affiliation with science nor literature (rhyme) and the only art he set for his empire was to maintain the artistic tradition already set before him. Not tryin to take away from the lyric but is there something im missin? cuz it seems like a broken metaphor to me
WOWWWWWWWWWW!!!....Dope beat, crazy scratch's & sample's from Premo's mind and Jeru's deep & flowing lyrics....what more can a true hip hop head want? This is the REAL!!!!
Anyone hungry for pure unfiltered hip hop from the 90s: have you heard Celph Titled & Buckwild's "Nineteen Ninety Now" yet?! It's surreal how good it is, check that shit out NOW MOTHERFUCKERS!!! :P
this is the definition of classic. tight rhymes, sick beat, top shelf production. jeru and the greatest dj of all time, premo, and they roll together on this whole album, and the one after it too. sick.

There was a Hip hop tune i liked in the late 90s but cant remember who its by .
It was about slavery / black peoples troubles etc but was hard banging track
Had a video showed slavery images / clips. Was black and white video from what i remember
was by 1 guy Just remember guy saying "Black mans worth" in one part.
Beat had a kinda piano riff with a kind of human light humming sound as the theme.

this is the definition of classic. tight rhymes, sick beat, top shelf production. jeru and the greatest dj of all time, premo, and they roll together on this whole album, and the one after it too. sick.
