b/c a real guitarist doesnt need volume or distortion to play the guitar. if you call yourself a guitarist you should be able to play the guitar unplugged once and a while to make shure your not relying on your distortion to cover up your sloppyness

in some ways using distortion can be tougher since you have to account for added string noise and sensitivity. it's just a different feel. i went thru an odd phase when I had been playing for about 1.5 years where it was easier for me to play fast on an acoustic, just cause i was used to playing without added string noise. A good musician stays versatile though. Playing both clean and with high gain.

Yes it was. The voice, the nose, and the hair tell it all. He usually wears his hair in a ponytail when offstage, so it doesn't get in the way, so that's why the hair looks different in this video. But you can tell it's Herman just by listening to his voice, it has a very distinctive sound and mix of accents.
