Dude, I was JUST THINKING how a dragon age GMV would be perfect with this song! A little more focus on Alistair being raised as king would have been nice but otherwise great job!
For me it made complete sense to sacrifice myself in the end. I was really enjoying also the roleplaying part of Dragon Age so I even turned some quests down because they were againts the judgement of my hero. It was the best ending for me to be praised for my noble sacrifice.
But I guess not everybody is into RP that much :-D
@vincentiusx It is actually quite possible. All you need is a) kill the Archdemon yourself b) do not accept Morrigan's offer\ or if you accepted it do not take Morrigan to fight the Archdemon
Though I myself never tried. It's kinda pointless to spend entire game establishing and developing your hero only to have him killed in the end, IMHO

If I might be so bold to say if the Chantry of Light is correct, then wouldn't the Darkspawn be the chosen ones? They were made by The Magister's Sin and the Maker's punishment. They came to Thedas to destroy/corrupt all life. Maybe they can be reasoned with, if the Architect can make them benign.

The Grey Wardens took it upon themselves to fight, whilst the Maker -- who never promised deliverance -- cursed and abandoned the world due to the event you mentioned, and for Andraste. For this, it's anything goes, so the Blights and Archdemons will never cease. Sadly, the Architect is a DLC character and will probably be ignored in future DA games.
At any rate, the DA story is loosely based off of Christianity.

In my opinion Grey Wardens in Origin can be considered chosen ones because if you played all the origin stories you never wanted to become one, you were just dragged into the chaos and became the one who killed the archdemon. Alistair also told you he was chosen to be a Grey Warden so he can use his skills to aid the wardens against magic wielders. Almost the whole of your party has become chosen one to defeat the darkspawn.
@ArminVonLiberty they can't ignore him if you have imported your awaking character and sided with him and they most likly won't have anymore blights involved in the game due to this because bioware writers aren't tools that ignore the set story even if it was a bad thing to do
DLC is not a part of the set story, I'm afraid. Even Awakening. Nothing from Awakening was mentioned in DA II to my knowledge. Anyway, if you slay the Architect it would be contradicting to include him alive in future iterations, right? BioWare would have to ignore the "choice" players made. Regardless, it would be cool to see him and his cause return. I haven't played DA 2, but I think Flemeth still lives on...
@ArminVonLiberty she does only because of a well writen loop hole since flemeth gives hawke a quest to give and amulet to the keeper of a dalish clan but what hawke didn't know was that flemeth had sealed part of her soul in the amulet alowing her to come back for the rest of the series so the dragon age writers will have to acount for the fact that the achitect could be alive even tho it is a DLC which is an addition to the set story.
@kocashima Cool, I didn't know this. You can kill them in Origins anyway, even after the spy reveals them. I tried to "persuade" them but failed. I wonder how it plays out in DAII. Hell, I might not even have time to try it once I get into Skyrim (no spoilers pls :P ).
