Hey, great video.. my daughter and I were studying it and wondering why you have the Elevated Capacity as far away as you do from the light source. She is studying this material for her Science Project , she's in 6th grade and your video has really inspired her! Thank you! Dianna
the reason the electricity doesnt hurt is because its a different kind of current. you've created a DC current. it's completely harmless compared to the more commonly used AC current.
@morpher44 I think yellow and orange is sodium in the metal, reason being is a prior experiment with salt on the anode. i once had a blueish color because of the green pateena (think thats what its called) that had developed on the copper. thanks for the comment. great experiments you got going.
Mr Crob, I really like your project! Can that be done with just one ignition coil? Or would that make it too dangerous with amperage, or simply not work at all? Keep having fun!
The reason you don't actually get shocked is because the voltage is so high and the current is low enough that a phenomenon called the skin effect occurs, at very high voltages, there is high potential charge difference between two points, but if the current is low, the air is ionized but the amount of current (number of charge cariers) is not high enough to hurt you. It's a risky experiment though if you don't know what the voltage and current levels present are.
It cannot be low voltage. Low voltage will NOT make a spark gap, that is why all engine spark coils need to generate 20,000+ volts. That spark is many thousands of volts. The reason it does not burn skin is because it must be running over 2000 cycles per second.
Excellent video man! What a great experiment. the corona coming off the wire is unreal. I have never seen anything like that before. 5 stars man, good job!
Hey Crob, its funny to say I just made a two ignition coil setup like yours yesterday and am trying to use it with my plasma for heat project. I should start learning more about Tesla and his high voltage shenanigans. Awesome vid
great set up man what the hll do you do for a living ,you shure know how rig up some crazy sht bro ,,i hope you discuver something big ,i like the way your experiments are so[creative in configuration, it takes more then brains to brew some sht like that up and im saying that because ive seen alot of your work
and i love how it has no parrralel that i know of ,,its all new to me for the most part
I think this type of energy transfer is ion not electron based because it does uses the earth ground but not a positive physical wire more like the ionishpere in our atmosphere for the positive in a sense. I am not an expert just an observer and reader.
what was show was explained well enough to understand if research tesla.
He is doing on of tesla kind of circuit where you get energy to transfer wireless transfer. He is using the pie plates as the big capacitive antenna and the coil is producing a positive charge to the light blub because it's putting off a charge attacted to earth ground. The reason that he is getting some voltage leakage on this wires to his finger is because it's not rubber coated wires.
that looks pretty sweet, you should draw a schematic of your project, it will illustrate the experiment you're running, then may be one of your viewers will be able to better explain what exactly is that's taking place in the experiment you're showing on your video, maybe others can try and replicate the experiment. looks cool.

Neat video! I am an artist on YouTube trying to promote my theory on the dynamics of light and time
This theory is based on just two simple postulates
1. The first is that the quantum wave particle function explained by Schrödinger’s wave equation represents the forward passage of time itself
2. The second is that Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle that is formed by the wave function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event

Do you notice two colors in the streamers? When I did this sort of thing I saw a yellow-orange streamer ... but also the blue streamers.

When you said "elevated capacity" you hooked it to an object on top of your tv. What is that object?

amazing regardless

Can you post a pie tin build diagram?
I would like to draw this circuit up and post it back to you to finish the doco on this.

Nice experiment.
Do you really have the 2 ignition coils in
parallel or in series ?
Did you try to hook a scope in parallel with the
primary coils to see, how the primary coil waveform
looks alike ?
Does the drill triger just generate a PWM square wave ?

Very cool video. Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm gonna dig out that drill I threw out last week!

where the hell do you gies learn this stuff
ive been reading for 15 years as far as these topics go and have never seen an elevated cap? or was he refuring to the
locatin of the unit

tesla my friend thats where!
tesla referred to the top load of a coil as the elevated capacity.
try and find yourself a copy of The inventions ,researches, and writing of Nikola Tesla.
