  • @ 1:12 my balls went up hiding... and dropped back down to hell...

  • no word seems fit to describe jeff loomis' ridiculously awesome guitar playing skills

  • 1:36....4:48... I close my eyes. Every fucking problem I have, seems SO FUCKING INSIGNIFICANT, comparing to the majesty of this solo... It's like looking everyone from above... So small. So empty.

  • 2:19 riff is a fucking MASTERPIECE.

  • and good fucking thing he didnt join megadeth or he might not have made this album or have a new one comin out

  • @megasharkify nimagine if he did. he would of killed brodricks solos, nothing is better then frinedman tho

  • @MoreTimeToKill yea you always gotta consider that freidman did rust in piece in 1990. dimebag got a megadeth offer too but then no great southern trendkill, or vulgar, idk what but but tht wouldve been interesting

  • @MoreTimeToKill friedman

  • @dvpkid right who???? hahhahaha i know and love friedman. in face i try to spred his and jason beckers music to pepole who have know idea about them

  • 0:52 my favorite fucking riff oh and 2:18 and shit every fucking riff this guy writes megajeff haha!^^

  • lol The portion from 1:00-1:10 kinda sounds like Yngwie playing.

  • @killyou45 its sounds like yngwie playing Loomis

  • @abrookes1985 well, well a troll dropping off his own pile of useless comments while also overusing periods and adding in a dash of "lol" for shits and giggles. Try something different troll, its fucking embarassing.

  • @stokamachoke dave mustain suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • @stokamachoke dave mustain suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • 2:20 best Rhythm guitar ever written

  • @gdbangrenbehemoth666 MAN, WHAT THE FUCK ARE U TALKING ABOUT XD. Jeff Loomis just dominates the world, OK? =)

  • @abrookes1985 No it's not embarassing, it's his musical style, if you don't like it go listen to something else and stop bothering listening to things you don't like just to hate on it.

  • Thank you, Pandora for bringing me here :)

  • wtf just happpened at 4:50 ?

  • @Beholdthebeast A miracle given by the gods. Loomis was given to us by the Gods to bring us

peace into our minds, but then the Gods realized that they created something too powerful even for themselves.

So Loomis makes "Zero Order Phase" and takes their throne.

  • I just remodeled the wall... with my face. *continues to head bang*

  • The dislike bar is the size of the hater's wieners

  • @abrookes1985 Go fuck yourself.

  • i think i smell my eardrums burning...

  • i never had holes all over the walls in my room before this song :O

  • AAAAAHHHHH MY FACE JUST FUCKIN MELTED...thank you loomis! :)

  • Jeff Loomis has reached the absolute zenith of metal guitar playing and more importantly, metal composition. This man's solos are milestones in the history of all music, regardless of genre. his transitions from dissonance to the melodic define transcendental. i am grateful to be alive in the same time as this demigod. i sincerely hope he doesn't fade into obscurity like so many before him

  • @slipknotForSouljaBoy Apart from the solos (which are always awesome) i love the heavy rhythm that goes behind. Its so damn heavy.

  • @slipknotForSouljaBoy its very true of the dissonance to melodicness transitions are good unlike most artists of the genere

  • @slipknotForSouljaBoy who?????

  • I touch myself every time I hear this song ;)

  • @MrAndy24deth

i like that... keep going... touch me too while you're at it >)

  • Lolz awesome, view number 70,000

  • 1:36 is epic

  • Jeff would be ruined if he ever joined a huge band like Megadeth.

He would become so mainstream he would stop trying.

    He's incredible as he is.

  • this song is fucking awesome!

  • haha i feel sorry for the two people who disliked this song. they must be deaf:)

  • @xlespaulgothicx dislike comments aren't funny at all you just sound retarded

  • ha ha I can understand why my mom said music like this hurts her soul, this shit is beyond wicked.

  • 1:02-1:10 you can really hear the jason becker influence

  • i LOVE this album, but as much as i love it i feel the need to say i think the dark chapter album by michael romeo is a tad better.

  • Guitar god!

  • damn .. jeff is just awesome ..hope someday i can 1% of that was jeff can play ^^

  • i REALLLLLLLLLY wanna see lil wayne even fucking try this on his next album.

  • the person who hit dislike needs to stick the mouse up his ass and smash the keyboard against his face! how can you dislike this work of art!?

  • @Grynd4Lyfe haha, ur mom is for dorks.

  • WOW AMAZING but i'm extremely Surprised on the 1 dislike....i think that 1 person was Deaf >_> i'm just saying..i mean not liking Jeff Loomis...is like..Sex without the Cig. CAN'T BE DONE.

  • @Grynd4Lyfe Grynding 4 lyfe is for dorks

  • 2:11 - 2:41

i can't even describe how powerful this part is, Jeff Loomis is a genius

Have enjoyed all the songs on Zero order phase, which by the way is the one of the few instrumental albums that i don't find boring after 2-3 songs

Does someone know if Jeff wrote both rhytm and lead guitar or if someone helped him?

  • @EMSKradiaDit I don't know, but I fuckin agree with the power. Fuckin' a man 2:20-2:28 changed my thoughts completely on this song/album,

  • @EMSKradiaDit For real! I Every time this song comes on my Ipod I have to rewind that part at least 10 times! So damn sic :)

  • @EMSKradiaDit almost positive it was all him.

  • Ou Jeff you were in the right time on the right place when the God was giving out talent. Actually you are the God this must be the explenation. (sorry for my english)

  • @Grynd4Lyfe Judging from your favorites, you enjoy songs that detail being raped by elephants.

  • @Grynd4Lyfe Fuck you. Why are you listening to this for? Poor losers like you are jeleous of masterfully virtuosity that people like Loomis, Broderick, and Cooley have. You just watch these videos to talk shit. You probably can't play anyways so you talk shit to awesome players to make yourself feel better. Get a life and suck a dick

  • @Grynd4Lyfe well of course because u cant shred.

  • I love Jeff Loomis music, but I own a six string and do not know how to translate his 7 string songs for myself to learn. Too bad...

  • Best guitarists..(my opinion)not in order..Loomis,George Bellas,Bumblefoot(listen to ''guitars still suck),Uli jon Roth,Jason Becker, and the metal side of Greg Howe

  • i expected this album to be good.. little did i know it would brainwash me into destroying all other musical material i have because now nothing seems worthy of entering my ears besides Proffessor Loomis' shrediculous riffs

  • @espChris93

That was an amazing comment. haha.

  • @espChris93

totally agree, everything else sounds mediocre at best now, after hearing this.

  • @TheTasteofmyScythe haha yeah DAMN YOU JEFF for making all other music unlistenable and making me feel like a shitty guitar player :(

  • @espChris93 i did too.... that and tides man. idk why theyre on there. but man is that singer badass.

  • Comment removed

  • @espChris93 So there are more people in this world that listen to loomis andddd tides? :) isnt there singer joining Saosin? I have a feeling its not gonna be as good, honestly.. :\

  • This is so MOSH !!!

  • Thumbs up for eargasms!

  • Did jeff ever go on tour for this amazing record?

  • Marty and Jeff should tour... Better yet, they should make a neoclassical band together... I'd just cry.

  • ummm seriously ??? no comments?? 53000 views and no one bothered to comment?? how about that dramatic solo at the end ? or is epic the more popular word to use there?

  • As soon as I read the title of this song, I assumed it was going to send me into a crushing, maelstrom-like experience. Boy, did I assume right xD

  • I love the solo in this song, intense but full of passion!!

    Loomis owns...

  • @Gtrplyr1

The whole song is pretty much a solo, dude. Haha!

  • @ThrashDeth17 . maybe so but each song has a part that stands out most and this one is brutal!

  • around 2:00 it reminds me so much of beckers playing , loomis is seriously on my top list of modern day guitarist

  • @molomix23 Really? it sorta reminds me more of Marty Friedman imo.

  • Towards the end... I know he used that in one of the "This Godless Endeavor" songs... but which one? It begins at 4:50. I think you'll see what I mean... or was it "Enemies of Reality"...

  • @TheGreatTrollSlayer I suppose it's one of his "signature licks" and it was not really intentional. I mean to play something from a different song.

  • 0:53 - 1:02 Amazing

  • @mar1us95 -- i like that part, too. Reminds me of Opeth..

  • This song had some of the best rhythm riffs on the album.

  • me encanta el cambio de 2:10 is a strong melody

  • The cover image is very 911 twin tower looking & the Zero Order Phase is reminiscent of the phrases New World Order & Ground Zero added together. Remember the two twin tower tribute one year was the light beams where the towers stood. Listen to the discord flavor of the music & think about the kingdom of antichrist aka the new world order police state 911

  • doomsayer...what a name...

  • *facepalm*

  • Comment removed

  • jeff, thank you for this masterpiece...

  • This my friends is the greatest now living guitarist !!!

  • I'd say it's the best now PLAYING guitarist... You know, there's Jason Becker, but he has als, so... yea, he can't play.

  • Jeff Loomis admits that Pat O'Brian of Cannibal Corpse is better than him. Pat use to be in Nevermore, and tore it up twice as hard. But I do agree with everyone saying that Loomis is one of the greats.

  • Do you have a link to Jeff saying this? I think Pat could take him rhythm wise, but I don't think he could get anywhere near him lead wise.

  • @bodomhatecrew rhythm is more important.. so...

  • yeah id like to see the link of this, pat may be able to do it rythem wise but lead?no

  • y just like O'brian "admits" that loomis is better then him...

  • maybe pat is a big influence to jeff. any guitarist will say their influences is better then they are for the most part regardless of what other people believe.

  • Pat is more technical I guess, his picking is pretty clean and yet so fast even alex webster's fingerpicking can't keep up.

  • trey azagoth "morbid angel" is good to

  • 1:02 - 1:10 thats a whole tone sound isn't it?

  • love that main bendy riff >=]

  • 1:35-2:10 proves you can play fast with a lot of emotion, one of the best guitarists out there

  • Marty Friedman and Jason Becker play fast with emotion. Sounds really Great. (ps: Jason Doesn't play enymore, but he composes). I love the tornado of souls solo.

  • before reading your comment, i was going to tell XSilverxCrossx the exact same thing. way to steal the words right out of my mouth XD

  • Loomis is my hero. He is what every metal guitarist strives to be!

  • There you are correct but I strive to look at Michael Romeo's techniques too.

  • once you hear that intro riff you know something good is coming ...

  • Goddamn that's some nice riffage!!

  • how can someone make such an astounding album? I mean EVERY single song is just WOW!

  • Jeff has got to be the most talented guitarist that i have ever heard of!

  • check Jason Becker out

one of jeff main influences..keeping the shred alive

  • like jason's work with marty in cacophony. it'd be sweet to see jeff paired up with an equal guitarist in that way but i dont even know many guitarists today who could do that with jeff maybe chris broderick or muhamed suicemez that would be a sick guitar duo

  • well chris broderick played in nevermore with jeff so that's a start..hmm your right i don't know any pairs like that again..the cacophony pair was legendary unfortunate what happened to jason tho..

  • yea i know they played together thats why he would fit in that pair with him but of course now hes in megadeth as of right now, and yea what happened to jason is just devastating it seems like tortue that such a magnificent guitarist at such a young age had that ability taken away from him. its a shame

  • what happened to him?

  • well im not sure excactly how old he was when the disease started to take effect but jason was diagnosed with ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis aka lou gehrig's disease. which from what i understand slowly takes away movement and mobility. over time jason could no longer even move his arms and started writing using a keyboard but that didnt last long because he became fully paralyzed. he is currently alive and well(excluding his condition) and can talk using eye movements

  • holy fuck that sucks why couldent that happen to kanye west :)

  • yea really haha

  • @espChris93 he was diagnosed at 19 or 20 years old. way too young.

  • @CyValkarion diagnosed with what?

  • @limbs32 Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's Disease. Robbed him oh his ability to play guitar and eventually to even speak. He deserves respect because even after all that he still continued to compose music.

  • Becker was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and basically he started to lose abilities like speaking. But he still composes music I believe, which is great.

  • matt n corey are a pretty good pair. still don t compare to loomis or cacophony

  • from necrophagist right?

  • yea, i love his work with necrophagist plus him and jeff are both monster players and could complement each very well especially since they both like to use a lot of diminished and harmonic stuff in their guitar playing

  • Jeff Loomis and Muhammad Suicemez would make the world end. That being said it would be worth it

  • there are enough guitar players who are in same league with Jeff Loomis- Ron Jarzombek(Blotted Science, Spastic Ink), Paul Gilbert, Luke Jaeger(Sleep Terror), Buckethead etc...

  • i didnt mean jeff was the single greatest guitarists ever or that no one can compete with him but theres just not a whole lot of players who share his technical ability and playing style....(but Ron and Jeff jamming would be like sex for my ears haha)

  • I'm surprised you mentioned Sleep Terror.

  • Buckethead? hahaha thats funny...and you fail to mention John Petrucci

  • so what`s wrong with Buckethead besides your own self-righteous prejudis? failed to mention J. Pterucci? maybe i had to list all the good guitar players on this thread so that you could be content? i think i`ll throw in one more name that i like- Omar Rodriguez Lopez.

    cheers.

  • What's wrong with Buckethead? He's an amazing guitarist, not to mention he plays a wide variety of other instruments, such as Bass, Drums, Piano, Banjo, etc. He's been voted 8th fastest shredder alive is is likely to be the greatest tapper of all time.

  • pure genious!

  • The beginning of this song reminds me of Pravus by Meshuggah.

  • i thought the exact same thing lol

  • well Jeff IS influenced by Meshuggah...

  • This is awesome stuff...Its nice to hear a true musician...Since i grew up listening to guitarists like malmsteen and satriani its great to hear this...This guy is awesome

  • lol loomis grew up listening to them too! :p

  • It is so cool to hear someone the same age as yourself with almost the same influences shred so extreme, hail loomis, jarzombek, becker , malmsteen vai murphy and so on,shreds not dead and this is nothing short of euphoric!

  • now THIS is real talent!

  • jeff loomis has maxed out the capabilities of what a human can do on guitar, any better than him would be a computer

  • Anybody have Omega's Influence?

  • I wish I could find that song

  • best guitarist of our time hands down

  • God bless Jeff Loomis and those magnificent fingers.

    ಠ_ಠ

  • one of the most epic song titles. ever. hands down

  • There are many Guitarrist just as well as jeff loomis, but this is fucking amazing, he's some kind of a new Mozart, thats really freaky music.

  • looooool agree

  • i thought the same thing. if you listen to his stuff with nevermore, you here alot of the same sweep.

  • jeff is amazing and a god but you gotta listen to rusty cooleys faithful demise now that i can listen to all day although i think jeff is better

  • Jeff is fucking amazing!!

  • i hear a lot of marty friedman influence in this song. anyone else catching that?

also, i've been wondering why the fuck i haven't bought this album yet!!!

  • Jeff tried out for Megadeth but instead Marty made the cut because Jeff was too young at the time, he probably still listened to them so i dunno maybe he got it there

  • yeah i'm aware of all that

  • I sometimes find it funny how a lot of bands are in someway connected to Megadeth, for instance, Jeff tried out for Megadeth years ago but couldn't get in because he was to young. Years later Jeff's fellow Nevermore guitarist Chris Broderick becomes Megadeth's guitarist. That's a funny coincidence.

  • he mentions marty and jason becker as his main influences so he listened to them before marty joined megadeth in the cacophony era and martys dragons kiss solo album

  • haha in one of jeffs clinics they were talking about that, and a dude in the audience said if jeff had made it to megadeth, they would change the name to MEGAJEFF!!! lolol

  • @ChildOFtheVoid haha that would be awesome!

  • ROFL Megajeff ftw.

  • lolol epic win

  • @ChildOFtheVoid lol i think i remember seeing that in one of the gothenburg clinic vids

  • ya thats where i heard it too hahaha

  • ah ha, a lot of marty on THIS song? lol try the whole album, it's like a tribute to him and Becker, you can tell who his influences are :P, damn good ones too :)

  • amazing

  • This and John Petrucci's Suspended Animation are the only solo albums that i never get tired of listening to, a great solo album by an amazing shredder

  • have you heard jason becker's perpetual burn? i can listen to that album all day, every day and not get sick of it.
