Talk about insider trading. Where is the outcry from the SEC and the overseas business community about Obama's payback to Soros by supporting offshore drilling by Petrobras? Soros has an ENORMOUS stake in Petrobras, acquired fairly recently. Obama claimed that the US couldn't drill itself out of energy dependence. Yet he is giving his blessings to that very same activity! Where are the raving liberal environmentalists? How much hypocrisy can the Obama clan sustain? Let the impeachments begin!

He ignores the fact that the financiers of loan origination are also actors in the free market, unless he believes that loans should be financed by socialistic central banks and governments. Healthcare would be rationed, quality would go down. These are facts. The price of healthcare would sky rocket. The same ones paying for healthcare would see a tax hike, Doctors would be forced to treat patients at government rates. Meaning price control. Supply and demand determine prices. When demand outstrips supply, you have a shortage and prices rise. The market has just rationed the supply. This is basic economics, idiot.
The rationing has priced out the poorer, whereas the government can shift more of the scarcer resources to the poor, at the expense of some innovation, perhaps, though I don't know that it's empirically validated.

No, that isn't basic economics. Those are foolish basic assumptions.
The government can take advantage of the largest efficiencies of scale anywhere if it chooses. That's true, even with the system mostly remaining private.
And the system is still mostly private for the Obama care beneficiaries. Private companies compete for private and subsidized dollars, so single payer isn't an issue. I have no idea why your pea brain even mentions it.

Yes, we haven't had efficiency in government in a long time, partially because it's been run by people who don't think it can be efficient.
The fact is, the US government can borrow at the lowest rates of any other entity, can spend far more on a given project or policy, and can take advantages of the largest economies of scale.
Among government-funded inventions: the internet, GPS, the computer, atomic energy, and various medical treatments.
