A small portion [the first 30 seconds or so] of this superb music was used in Sky Movies for its film previews in the early days (c. 1992). It was played over a nice animation that swept into a cinema and swooped onto the screen.
I cannot believe I found this at last!!! I used to wait up every Sunday Morning just to hear this tune being played on Channel 4 Teletext & test cards before Jason and the Wheelies. Well, I think that was what the cartoon was called. But this tune just inspired me to become heavy on Jean Michelle Jarre, Vangelis, Johan Agebjorn etc. Thank you.
No wonder the IBA or ITC aren't around these days, they were always up to nasty tricks, making successful TV broadcasting businesses go fail overnight due to the way they franchised out licences.
But how come it went from Oracle to Teletext on ITV and Channel Four? Teletext is so incredibly boring compared with what Oracle was, and 4-Tel was great too, for the animations! Good memories there.
I used to remember beatbox when I was a teenager on teletext as shown on the video. It was like a youth magazine, but on TV. Definitely was missed when it went of the air after 1992.
I did too this is so nostalgic, reminds me of when I was 10, sitting in the dark living room at 5:45am waiting for the first of the days cartoons, belisimo!
MASTERPIECE !

4 some reason oracle seemed to me to be much more colourful than ceefax, but i think the latter had the better music. This tracks quite good though.

Oracle was and always will be much better than Teletext or Ceefax

I remember that this music was also used in a promo for A&E here in the states back in the late 80s (I'm guessing it might be a library track.....)

Oracle lost an ITV franchise bid in 1991. Licence was handed over to Teletext UK.

This teletext came from 31st December 1992. Although the music sounds like it comes from 1990 !!!

I remember hearing this music on a demonstration video for a Cirrus Logic Graphics card driver disk many years ago for a 486 PC.
