  • cant....talk...sides.....hurting...from.....laughing......"llamaas live in big rivers like the amazon!........llamas have a beak for eating honey...." stomach .....hurts.....

  • Well, THAT was random.

  • As a Spanish language speaker, i'd say this is a proper way to speak spanish and the translation was accurate. Other shows would say "El Llama" or other stupid translations and that what makes it a pretty good sketch to me.

  • election night

  • 8 people are pining for the fjords...

  • I will probably get a lot of hate for this, but this i'snt funny at all. Mabye its the fact I speak spanish and it just sounds like 3 idiots speaking in high pitched voices.

  • @supermario0192837465 That's exactly the point.

  • @EbiTron That my be the point, but its just not funny to me.

  • @supermario0192837465 You are basically spot on. But that is where the comedy is.Comedy is different things for different people. I find it funny precisely because of the idiots speaking Spanish with squeaky voices.

  • @zahzuh I get that that is precisely the point, but I still don't find it very funny. Some of their other skits are funny to me, as is the life of brian and the holy grail( not incredibly funny, but pretty entertaining). This one just falls flat for me though.

  • lmfao.

  • I wonder what somebody who doesn't know Monty Python would think if they saw only 2:00 until end with muted audio!

...though, coming to think of it, it's not much different from pretty much ANY Python excerpt, with or without audio...

  • oh my gosh john cleese knows a lot of languages.

  • Cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, las llamas~!

  • DE JESUS CHRISTOS! pause it just as John jumps and says OLAY. that bitch has some serious ups!

  • OLAY???? Mmmm... I think is "Olé" ¬¬

  • @Clean5530 cool story bro

  • The title said Monty Python and Llamas... I couldn't resist. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!

  • Llamas are bigger than frog !

I love this kind of sentence.

  • "ratazanas", is it what they say?? why that's "rats", not "frogs"! O.o

  • @sweetpotatoefish I heard "las ranas"

  • loved the man with a tape recorder on his nose! xD

  • 8 people apparently think this is a factual documentary. LOL!

  • There are three things that made me feel "WHATTHEFUCK"ed:

1.Mixing spanish music with mexican accent and talking about an animal that doesn't live anywhere near those two countries.

    2."Cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, LAS LLAMAAAAAS"

3.The guy on the motorcycle at the end of the video.

Anyway, why people on the english speaking countries are so obsessed with llamas? I mean, alpacas are way more cute, and guanacos are way more funny.

  • @ArcaneXIII2 YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE BEAUTY AND GRACE A LLAMA HAS. IT'S GOT FINS AND A BEAK, FFS. AND IT'S LARGER THAN A FROG, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

  • I was actually quite worried about what was round the corner of the tyre shop. Then I was a ok!

  • @saturnstargirl me too!!!

  • 8 people know nothing about llamas

  • So cute English accent!! That makes the sketch even more funny! ;)

  • LLAMAS ARE LARGER THAN FROGS!

  • "las LIAMAS son mas grrrande que las Rrranas!!"

  • And then enter Graham Chapman

  • llamas , CRACKWOOD the movie !!!! coming soon....

  • The Spanish is definitely not perfect, and that's what makes it hilarious. They just make it seem as if they're speaking it correctly by doing the strong r's and yelping. But the grammar is terrible, I haven't laughed so much in a while. Un pico para comer miel hahahahaha

  • when I went on a school trip to peru, my classmates would sing the llama song every time we saw a llama. Me? I of course would shout: "CUIDADO! LLAMAS!"

  • Cleese nailed that jump at 1:30

  • Haha, I just noticed Terry's silly jump at .45

  • Entire script:

"Man: The llama is a quadruped which lives in big rivers like the Amazon. It has two ears, a heart, a forehead, and a beak for eating honey. But it is provided with fins for swimming.

Guitarist & Dancer: Llamas are larger than frogs.

Man: Llamas are dangerous, so if you see one where people are swimming, you shout: Guitarist & Dancer: Look out, there are llamas!

(A Spanish Lady dressed in a Spanish frock, enters on a moped she blows up a paper bag and bursts it. They bow.)"

  • "Las Llamas son mas grandes que la ranas...

Cuidado cuidado, cuidado, las llamas" What a funny song!

  • since than you never can be sure about the meaning of spanish lyrics. they can sing what ever they want.

  • Clesse speaked perfect spanish, and i also saw his german shows, how many languages this genious spoke?

  • Such perfectionism! Even the song sounds awesome and Terry Jones' moves ... omg, hillarious!

  • I never really understood why i liked Monty Python....I just knew i loved it!!!!

I watched the Holy Grail when i was a little llama and never looked back....

    Viva La Monty Python!!!

  • Seven people don't expect the Spanish inquisition.

  • How did they think of this!? XD! Geniuses!

  • they have beaks for eating honey

  • hahahahahaha f***ing hilarious Spanish

  • "Grita: CUIDAAADOOOO!" LOL

  • @bandan11 well nobody expects it anyways

  • This video sends me into hysterics every time I watch it :D But now I've gotten into the habit of staring at Eric while he's playing the guitar... my God, he's got amazing fingers. Heh.

  • whoever dislikes will never expect the spanish inquisition

  • @bandan11 NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! THOSE WHO DISLIKE WILL BE TORTURED WITH THE COMFY CHAIR!

  • love his expressions when he's playing the tape recorder!

  • bit of advice. watch this blazed

  • wtf.. ? lol loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it. llama's are larger than frogs. (:

  • Brilliant.

  • hard to say, this is the strangest thing Iv ever laughted at....

  • is this where the inspiration came from for the subtitle intro of "the holy grail"?

  • que buena este skecht es tan chsitoso sus voces son tan funnys XD

  • Johnny Depp says the line "El Llama es un quadrupedo" in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas after his character took some adrenochrome.

  • Genius! Superb! Shrubbery!

  • rofl

  • Yes, they are larger than frogs....XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

    Rofl.......

  • Oh, buenos noches!

  • The llama sketch is my favorite ever

  • Misinformation!!!

Cleese + foreign language (always) = AWESOME

  • la llamas son mas grandes q las ranas jajajaja esos weyes

    q mamadas sacan haha

  • CUIDADO LLAMAS!

  • According to Will Wright, the "SimCity" and "The Sims" series mention llamas in reference to this sketch.

Llamas are larger than frogs. They are also smaller than elephants. : P

  • @SpinyMcSpleen I always thought that's what was up with the constant Llamas.

  • O kurwa! Co oni ćpają? I gdzie to mozna kupic?

  • i will agree with lars3939. that is just hilarious!!

  • The ORIGINAL llama song. ^_^

John Cleese's faces are priceless. And the ending is so funny, too!

  • one of my favorite sketches

  • "look out! there are llamas!"

  • lol llamas are larger than frogs xD

  • li llama!!!

  • oui oui

  • My favourite sketch by them ever.

  • Their Spanish skills are great.

  • the maniacal eyes and the booty shaking of Cleese just make this awesome

  • and now in stereo :d

  • The old crowd in the end of "A Man With A Tape Recorder Up His Nose!" is always used after some jokes in the brazillian tv program "Panico na TV"!

  • jajajajajajaaaa In which year was this performance made?

  • wow... color and quality in 1969!

  • The lines seem like something out of a beginner's spanish class. I remeber taking a French class that has a similar thing with a horse. Five sentences we had to repet over and over again.

"The horse is a large animal."

    "It has four legs."

    and so on...

  • I have yet to see anyone do comedy like the pythons. What was pointed out to me, was the fact that they don't bother to put endings on their sketches. Once the initial joke of the sketch becomes apparent, they don't milk it to death, or try to end it rationally. They simply cut to a Gilliam cartoon, or throw in some other sort of nonsence.

Yes, I'll be posting this everywhere until someone responds.

  • i respond!

  • The "llamas are larger than frogs" part always makes me laugh.

  • That's my favorite part besides "It is provided with fins for swimming."

Anyone else notice that Eric seems to be trying really hard not to laugh the whole time?

  • Heh. I would be too if I had a ridiculous fake mustache on while singing about a llama in spanish.

  • Does anyone know the actual spanish for this?

  • Are you blind? It is the "actual" Spanish translation.

  • No I mean does anyone know the spanish cause they give English subtitles. Sorry bout that.

  • It says:

    ¡Señoras, señores y señoritas! ¡Buenas noches!

    Then Eric and Terry sing:

Las llamas son más grandes que las ranas

  • John says:

Pero las llamas son peligrosas. Si usted ve una llama donde hay gente nadando, usted gritar (the use of this verb is incorrect):

    ¡Cuidado! ¡Llamas!

    Eric and Terry sing:

Cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, las llamas

Cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, cuidado, las llamas

  • AHH I have been looking for the lyrics for sooooo long!

I tried to figure them out on my own but for some of the it I just couldn't understand what they were saying!

You are my hero! This is going to make for a great discussion with my Monty Python loving Spanish teacher!

  • So nonsensical, I just love it, The fact that my native language is Spanish makes it even funnier

  • ...wait....what?

  • "un pico para comer miel" hahahah

  • thanks for uploading. brings me alot memories

  • Llamas son más grande que las ranas.

  • Oléééé!!!!

  • Llamas are larger than frogs....Look out, there are llamas!

    Haha, this is so funny

  • Lack of punchline is one of the things that made Monty Python famous. :)

Also, nice Spanish by John Cleese. He had a talent for acting in other languages.

  • Nice Spanish? The ones behind(Terry and Eric) Speak it much better.

John Cleese speaks it like an American high-school Spanish teacher.

  • @MithranArkanere But he got better over time. In some live performances he's great.

  • @hokstein Understatement police are charging you with crimes against comedy. John Cleese is a genius. ;)

  • I guess its for the same reason that some people think "Happy Tree Friends" is funny, or "Everybody Loves Raymond". Perception. If you don't see any comedic value the simple solution would have to be: don't watch it :)

  • British surrealist humor (essentially what Monty Python comedy is) derives itself from the absurdity of the situation and scene rather than relying on construct of dialogue to be funny. It is, in my opinion...the most intelligent of comedies.

  • @ezrafetch agreed!

  • @ezrafetch Unfortunately for you, they still wrote the stuff. Most of it, anyway, it's also improv.

  • @Zeanu Don't think you understood what I meant. Construct of dialogue refers mostly to the apparent necessity of punchlines in comedic sketches. There is no apparent "setting up" in the dialogue in Monty Python: it's just absurd and everything that follows is funny. No need for all the introduction, "buildup," and the punchline outline that modern comedy thinks it needs (which is why comedy nowadays is not at all comedic but rather lame).

  • @ezrafetch I understand that, but the fact remains it was still written in a certain order, is what I was getting at, I know the "unfortunately for you" bit sounded aggressive and spiteful but I didn't mean it that way, sorry, though.

  • @ezrafetch Indeed, I must concur most wholeheartedly.

  • Love this. So much.

Whenever I feel like annoying my husband, I just sing, "Cui-DAD-o...cui-DAD-o...cui-DAD-o...LLAMAS!"

    XD

  • ¡Mire hacia fuera, allí sea llamas!

  • I am so showing this in our Spanish class!

  • LLAMAS! Ellos son inmejorables!

  • !!!CUIDADO, LLAMAS!!!

  • They are actually speaking proper Spanish...

  • John Cleese is fluent in Spanish.

  • Si! Muy bien espanol!

    Actually, I don't speak espanol.

  • Yeah, we watched this in our Spanish class....'twas AWESOME!!!

  • When Graham rides out on a scooter in drag, blows up the paper bag and pops it, I die.

  • Wow! You've died 21,151 times right now. You're amazing! :D

  • HAHA! I wrote this sketch from memory, as a Spanish assignment.

  • Cool!!!

  • lmao!

  • nobody has remarked the nose fingering french national anthem so far?

  • OMG!! this is lmmfao, rotfc funny! Monty Python strikes again (sorry 4 the horrible turn of phrase, couldnt think of anything else).
