What made me so sad was that Rose never got to hear the Doctor say those blessed words, and that he never got to tell her. It was no secret how much they meant to one another. What they had was more than friendship, wasn't quite romance, but was definitely special.

@rewindingmyemotions It makes sense, too, with having worked together so long and you can tell watching it they're having a great time and probably got to be really close friends. Even before seeing the video diary, you can tell in the episode she actually is breaking down and he's just barely holding it in.
