i got a 3.4.i wish to lower it and slap on a turbo and some bolt ons.any ideas on what suspension kits i could use and what mods and turbos are adaptable to the 3.4?
There aren't to many things to do to a 3400 series but check out zzperformance, milzymotorsports and wbodystore for performance parts. A lot of Grand Ams back in the day used the 3400 and 3100 series motor. Also check out 60degreev6 and gaownersclub forums to explore possible options for that type of motor. Good luck
I would say with FWD you would have more pick up and go because of weight support from the engine in the front. Which makes a race worth it. RWD has a big risk of spinning out and not only that, but usually when the rear spins out. It slides, slowing the race down a lot! You have more advantage to a front wheel drive car. Yes they are harder to change spark plugs in, but they are worth it.
@turbocountry You gotta keep in mind how physics work. Even though the engine's weight is in the front..all of that gets pushed to the back as the car starts to take off. You get a lot more traction on RWD than FWD.
@myslogtp what, did you like search through the comments to find mine from a year ago? wtf? and what the fuck does your comment even mean? they're not 606 horsepower...
@abz520 i just prefer RWD, cuz i like to kick down and see the car playing behind me :D, and i like to drift sumtimes, i know FWD is stable on the road and stuff. no offense, i used to have like this impala, and i still have the 96 impala ss but the police locked it down...now i dont have a car, so , now i wanna have any car , FWD or RWD :D
@ganee6a This car may be front wheel drive, but it can do amazing things. Easiest front wheel car to control. I have one just like it. This body style of the impala is the best body style that ever lived! Anything newer sucks, anything older sucks! The LS with the spoiler. Best body style ever!!
@montecarlomayne I like my car the steering wheel is like really tight on it. You turn the steering wheel just a little and it will turn. Steering isn't loose at all on my car. Turning radius is fantastic!
WOW!!! no shit. i am not a car expert. and i have 05 LS with 3.8 pushing stock 200hp. I wuld like to get at least 350hp i have raced a 96 imp 03 caddy dvl. out the gate i am a monster, on the streetch they will catch me and pass me. guy in 96 said take the gov. off it will give you hp. while deville said no it won't it just go faster hell just throw nitrous in.
help on horsepower and on weither i should take the govenor off, or do nitrous on it. P.S Thanks.
Neither one was true. Taking a governor off will only keep ur egine's computer from cutting the fuel at the limiter, resulting in higher top speed. Nitrous on a stock motor is not a good idea. Unlike turbo's or superchargers, Nitrous is like an added fuel, and when u hit it, the power is not ramped in, its instant....that's what breaks thing is that snap of increased torque. If anything, a turbo kit will be cheaper, easier, and safer on ur motor.
not useless.can make lots of power with turbo's.the same suspension mods you make to handle the power on any car,you can do with FWD w bodies.control arms, urethane bushings, etc.greatly reduces torque steer.check out zz dude.10 sec flat in qtr isn't useless
hey awsome impala bro i have 3.5 lt that im trying to turbo nut i dont know what to do let me know what you had to do in order for me to continue with my project thanks mines an 2006 and six
hey, im doing the same thing to mine,'06 3.5l LT impala, but im still debating on doing twin or single turbo kits. Its actually pretty easy, but if ur not well versed in turbo charging or automotive mechanics, it can get expensive. Im using a $800 universal t3/t4 hybrid turbo kit off of ebay and fabing it to fit. All in all it will cost about $1200 but im doing a rear mount setup so i dont melt anything under the hood and to get better weight distribution.
man, can you please give me the whole the list, cause, well, i have the same car, and I wanted to get it to over 500hp after I got the rights to it from my parents. Thank you!!!!
fwd..are the best...just because its new concept..stupids think rwd is better

Nice! How about a current generation Impala with the 3.5, 3.9, or the 5.3?
IndyFan53 11 months ago
tht thing would never be able to hook up with that much power and it'd just have horrible torque steer when it did
Beast car but useless as FWD

Stattama 1 year ago 7
@Stattama on slicks a 10.00 but with that much power if it was rear wheel drive he could easily nail low 9's

convert to rear wheel drive.:)
