One thing I always wanted to know about this PPV was with all the stuff involving Hogan and Russo at the time, was it scripted for Hogan to come out and lay down or did he do that to stick it to Russo? I can't believe for a second that Sting/Goldberg was planned for the main event. Both looked out of sorts, like they didn't have time to rehearse their moves or the flow of the match.

Its because of crap like that, WCW got bought out! Hogan and his ego screwing up a paperview main event, Goldberg not selling moves like the spear, and then the fact that WWE had their act together. Its a shame! Good times WCW, good times!

soon as Goldberg won that shit. they strip him of the title. It wasn't a title bout to begin with. just before the match, the annoucer says, "oh it for no title. I understand there will be not title here." thats why Sting was pissed and dissed the ref at the end of the match. he asked about his title if you notice. don't get me wrong, Goldberg is my nigga, no question. but thats just how it went down.
That match saved that PPV. The sid/goldberg match sucked, hogan quit, so they just came up with this. I think sting was just sick of the WCW and Hogan by this point.
Another great example of how WCW failed, great wrestling, great talent, but NO creative structure or communication. Listen to Schivoni and Heenan, they do not even know whether that the title is on the line or not. What a disaster.
It's a shame too cause I miss the Monday night war, those were the days. Vince needs to keep WCW alive instead of that third rate promotion ECW on Sci-Fi.

soon as Goldberg won that shit. they strip him of the title. It wasn't a title bout to begin with. just before the match, the annoucer says, "oh it for no title. I understand there will be not title here." thats why Sting was pissed and dissed the ref at the end of the match. he asked about his title if you notice. don't get me wrong, Goldberg is my nigga, no question. but thats just how it went down.

That match saved that PPV. The sid/goldberg match sucked, hogan quit, so they just came up with this. I think sting was just sick of the WCW and Hogan by this point.

Another great example of how WCW failed, great wrestling, great talent, but NO creative structure or communication. Listen to Schivoni and Heenan, they do not even know whether that the title is on the line or not. What a disaster.
It's a shame too cause I miss the Monday night war, those were the days. Vince needs to keep WCW alive instead of that third rate promotion ECW on Sci-Fi.

Did you see that spear by The Stinger?!?!?! NO ONE's ever done that to Goldberg, HA! Sweet ending where he decks Charles Robinson. Sting didn't seem himself, didn't seem comfortable being a villain.
