honestly the worst thing about this game seams to be consintraion made, especially add folks like kwing: Space hunter L Kwing is trapped, out of ammo and his sheild are running low. all he must do to recharge them is to Consintrate but that Damn penny is so SHINY

when i saw the mother brain in the trailers i was fricken siked. i was liked oh shit a remake of super metroid fuck yeah! i hope they keep everything the same!. but that dissapointed me that this was not the case. but none the less the game was amazing. i have to wait for adam to authorize weapons and abilities. so what. it wouldnt have been a challenge if i could use everything. nothing at all bugged me about the gameplay. only thing was the long grouling cutscenes of here past.

i love this game so much!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish nintendo would keep this formula for the metroid games although i would prefer the nunchuck and dodging with a bottun and moving the analog stick to the direction i want to dodge to but the level design in this game works great with the d-pad but if they would use the nunchuck they would have more freedom in the level design also i think concetentrating should be removed and enemeis should drop health and missles overall a fantastic game

I loved this game. It's definitely different from other Metroid games, but if I wanted to play the same game over again, I'd replay Super Metroid. Which I do. A lot.

WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!? Longest play through? what are you thinking man, ive played all metroid games, ALL. and this is one of the shortest. Man, the items where easy to find too. Among the limited soundtrack, the poor replay factor, and the exclusion of any reward for hard mode, AND the two glitches from the door to the credits, much of the game needed a bit of revising. Over all, enjoyed it, until Ninja Hype up a Tourian battle, that never made its appearance, then I dreaded till the end.

It makes a lot of sense that the doors don't open by shooting, the facility you are in is a scientist facility, and the scientists won't want to have to carry a gun around to open doors!

I love super metroid, the prime series and this one.

It really isnt that bad, but yeah, its very different from prime and goes more towards super metroid.

The cut scene with Ridley did bug me when I refer back to Samus' encounters with the space pirate in the Prime series. Then there's the glitch and everything you mentioned.

Overall, it's an amazing game and a great entry to the series. Hopefully sometime in the future, Team Ninja and Nintendo will team up again for another Metroid game that fixes the errors of this one and is even more mind blowing. With the Wii U on the horizon, this series in HD graphics would be awesome.

1. The game supposed to slow down immediately after entering first person to let you gather your bearings in the first person perspective instead of taking damage immediately.

2. The more save points are due to the fact that enemies do not drop health. Left 4 Dead anyone? I do agree however that instead of many save stations, enemies should drop health.

I'm actually getting this tomorrow along with The Mercenaries 3D. I've only played Prime 3. Other M was being bashed all over the Internet, so I figured it was bad. But now I've been reading good stuff about it, so i think people overreacted to stuff they are not used to. I heard a lot of complaints about Samus "crying like a little girl." Well, most badass characters start out with something like that. In fact, it shows that she's human.

People will always find reasons to bitch. "WE WANT A SUPER METROID REMAKE" , well , this is about as close to a super metroid remake as youre gonna get without making it totally 2D. They even continued the Super metroid story arc , instead of making Prime 4. Samus may be the most badass bounty hunter we all know , but she is also human , her parents were KILLED by Ridley. Even the most emotionless person will have feelings that were long covered up when reunited with the cause of pain.

I think everyone loses on Samus' personality here. Sure there was a manga about Ridley (which not MANY people knows about so don't pull that crap out of nowhere), but you would think that she would not be surprised by Ridley's appearance. The guy appeared in many titles and even if prime did not exist in the timeline (which it does) that is not a good enough excuse to not be experience enough to not fight back.

B this time she's already fought Ridley at least 5 times, Mother Brain twice (Thrice if you count the Aurora Unit 313), the Metroid Prime and it's Samus form thrice, the entire Ing horde and the Emperor Ing's 3 forms., she had already destroyed an entire planet and taken down the Zebesian and Homeworldian Space Pirates and yet she acts like some whiny preteen with an out-of-nowhere crush on "some gruff CO.".

@kztar621 When Samus met Ridley at the first time, she was a little girl at that time. Seriously, how you cannot expect seeing Samus crying like a baby at that time? Ridley killed her parents. That leaves trauma to Samus and seeing Ridley again reminded Samus for that horrible day when her parents were killed and Ridley almost killed her. That's why Samus was so scared. Samus is a human like we are. Fear is a natural thing to everyone, even for tough bounty hunter like Samus.

The story might have worked if they didn't put it where they did. The manga had the same reaction to Ridley, but that took place during Metroid 1, so it actually made sense. Also, the game's more linear than Fusion, and Fusion is about how linear you can make a Metroid game without being ridiculous. Additionally, you already had everything, you just couldn't use it because of the other people, which made me dislike everyone rather than care about them.

I completely agree with you and this review. Finally; one that seems informative for a change instead of the same s*** I keep hearing every single time. This was a great game. The fast pace action. The in depth story. The secret finding. Every little bit of it felt like a Metroid game except for the new game play which was great. People really need to learn to step out of their gaming comfort zone and keep an open mind when playing games.

Actually, after you beat the game once, you can press the minus button to skip cutscenes. But yeah, the doors should be "shootable" and the enemy deaths should reward you with health and missiles. It doesn't bother me that much, but it's still kind of annoying. Plus, I find the abundance of Save Stations to be annoying. Maybe I don't want to save. Maybe I want to blitze through the game without saving, but since the doors often won't open until after saving, I'm out of luck for that one.

sorry man but adam was really jaring in this game, the gameplay is not bad but its waaaayyyy to straight forward for me.

Speed Booster, Spinespark are still awesome to see :), some of the action is ok but I've found some wierd glitches which are a joke to see HAHAHA Anthony was awesome to see everytime.

Also no offense man but this game is easy to 100%.

I dont agree with that it's easy, or maybe a little.. Try to collect everything, without any guide etc and then the difficulti level will be taken up a notch. And try on hard mode, that's hard!

I've beaten it on hard mode I didn't know what the perks were for hard mode untill I figured out I couldn't pick up any energy tanks and missile tanks now for real man that was tough, the hardest part of the game was fighting on that lift with 9 space pirates and one super space pirate that you can only kill by hitting his mouth flashes red oh and the queen metroid since Metroid 2 she is still tough to beat.

by the time I've beaten other M I had over 80%, 11 more items to find.

Honestly I did like the rest of the game (forget most of the bad shit I said) but adam is a pain in the ass, when you get all your moves like in all metroid games I go ape shit running around and jumping everywhere finding items every 20 seconds.

if Team N makes a sequal I hope they don't use that permission to use item BS again.

that was the thing that bothered me so much in other M your only allowed to use items when your told to even during battle when samus can get her ass kicked XD.

I like loseing all my powers at the start or in a prologe it feels rewarding to players in collecting items.

In every save room you can hover while jumping, press jump and point at the screen at the same time if you do it right you should be in FPS mode in mid air for 2 seconds, I just did that for lol its not that useful.

Metroid Other M may be a major low point for the Metroid series but it is still an overall great game sure Samus Arans potrail (espically in the scene with Ridley) is big minus and needing authroization to use abilitys instead of gaining them is stupid, the ending is depressing and needing to be in first person to shoot missles is stupid, but other then that I found Metroid Other M to be an overall great game, and enjoyed playing it . The Graphics, gameplay and challenge is wonderfull.

1). The doors in this game are automatic. It takes more time to shoot, then walk in, so why not just walk in and have them open up automatically? There are some doors you do have to shoot with missiles, though.

2). Destroying enemies and them giving health or missiles will make this game a little more "too easy", especially with the Concentration feature.

3). Why complain about save stations? The only save stations you HAVE to save on are the ones where the doors won't open unless you do so.

I don't get how every reviewer says the grafix are good. The grafix suck even for wii standards. Metroid Prime Corruption was far better technicaly and design wise. My wife was looking me playing it and thought I was playing this on the game cube. She asked me why was I playing such and old game.

bounty huntes and mercs follow some kind of code or order giving to them on the mission, whether its to capture person if the person needs to be dead or alive etc. in super metroid she was on orders from the galactic federation to exterminate the remaining metroid aswell as take down the space pirates once and for all, and she got rewarded for tht, but it doesnt mean she has to like it, she even disobeyed an order in the game. but u do wht u gotta do to get paid

i think it has to do with because Samus has less feminist approach to the game. Nintendo and team Ninja made her a more human character, instead of a Super Human attitude. People assume having emotions makes on weak, so they didn't like this game and just picked the same stuff to complain about and passed it on to the other reviewers. However; IGN did a great review of this game when it released. But I didn't check out other reviews, until after this was done.

this is y i subscribed to u and ur other channels kwing, ever since i subbed on my foxuzamaki account(which is suspended) i always found u a unbiased reviewer who loves nintendo and supports the wii and who actually KNOW HOW TO REVIEW A GAME especially metroid other m, now i would have also liked if u talked about the music however, it doesnt have all the memorable music from past metroid games but the new and old music it does have is simply gorgeous coming fro ma music buff like me.

GZ doesn't let me go in detail for my reviews really. So I had to cut stuff out. Also since I am partner now on my YT channel, Ive had to cut back on work out side my channel, since I do a vid mon-fri now. I felt the music was ok in this game, I used the only songs I liked for this review. Thanks for watching the review and understanding how and why I review games =)
