this sport involves the skills of baseball, hockey, and lacrosse but they fight like a bunch of soccer players just a bunch of shoving and pushing. You guys have fists use them or the hurling stick if your one bad ass MF
Best game ever. Most skilled athletes playing on the same piece of grass. Amazing...the competition isn't nearly as big in America, but the sport's growing, & I love it. We watch the games at the bars at around 7am-9am til' 12am. Great crack. And some of the teams are going to Ireland, and San Francisco for when the All-Stars come out for a game. Can't wait til' I'm in Croke Park for the All-Ireland semi-finals soon....anyone who says this sport looks stupid is probably British, or intoxicated.
@blaizethefootylegend Watch around 2 minutes of a game, and if ya still think it looks stupid, well you need to take the shit out of your eyes & the glasses out of you're ass cause you have no vision for true sport...
@blaizethefootylegend My testicles are fine thank you very much and as for your AFL... Its a hybrid of rugby and Gaelic football. Another Irish sport. And I've watched matches. Its entertaining apart from the fact that players have no fucking sense and just prefer to beat the sh*t out of each other instead of playing. So don't call me a low life. I respect AFL. The least you should do is respect the skill of hurling. Or you could just stfu
@blaizethefootylegend Get your facts right. AFL Came from English and Irish playing against eachother in Australia during its colonisation. The Irish played like Gaelic, and the English played like Rugby. Thats how the new sport developed. It goes back as far as the 1840s with Gaelic dating back to around 1670. These dates are of course when the sports were first documented, before they became regulated. Hurling has been played for about 3,000 years.
Hurling can't be a hybrid of soccer/tennis/hockey or lacrosse because it pre dates all of them. And also, funding doesn't come in to it. Gaelic and hurling are played at a professional level, without the help of a pay cheque, which shows that the players are doing it for the pure love of our culture, our sport, and their county. And I watch AFL every Tuesday. Its great craic to watch but half the players are just thugs. I mean half the time its an organized brawl...
@blaizethefootylegend Hurling pre-dates christianity and don't call me a spastic. Also I said at a professional level as a mere compliment to their skill. I understand that they don't get paid. Don't question my knowledge on the sport. I've done my research. I'm trying to pose an argument whereas you're simply tring to insult me.
@clarkey6890 It's not a professional level!!! It cant be their profession if there not getting paid. Its as simple as that.
Soccer dates back to ancient greece and the egyptians. So don't bullshit me saying 'hurling is older than soccer'. You haven't done your research, your a spud
@blaizethefootylegend Ok I'll accept that soccer is old but hurling is as well. Games involving kicking a ball go back to aincent China in the 3rd and 4th Centuries BC. Hurling goes back to 1672 BC. And as for hockey and tennis, hurling does pre date them. And as I explained to you I was merely complimenting the players dedication, skill and love of the game by describing it as 'professional'. Their attitude compares to athletes who show the same devotion and get paid.
@clarkey6890 Omfg!!! Stop telling me that hurling predates other sports!!! Hockey was also first played in ancient greece.
Also why the fuck why you DESCRIBE them as 'professional'? Plain stupidity.
Again, the meaning of profession is to get paid to do something, as their profession.
So what your saying is... I was merely complimenting the players dedication, skill and love of the game by describing it as ''paid'' (professional). Whatever you trying to convey, is not coming across clearly.
@blaizethefootylegend im another aussie and AFL fan but fucking hell your a stupid cunt stop embarrassing all of us and just shut your fucking mouth, your contradicting yourself, got your facts wrong, and your too fucking stupid to actually say anything of substance, this looks like a fucking good sport and id play it if i had to chance, so shut up and appreciate it

@timehmanno10 your profile says your 30..... And I'm sick of people like you. Your too much of a pussy to vent your anger in a face to face confrontation, so you do it on youtube.
@blaizethefootylegend not a real fuckin age is it, and mate, i dont have a fucking clue who you are, how do you want me to confront you ! just appreciate all good sports you ignorant assclown
@blaizethefootylegend haha "AFL is much older than Gaelic football"! ..australia wasnt even colonized yet while the irish were playing gaa.
..also "why do you keep calling them professional sports?" ..a professional gets payed to do his/ her job. gaa is amateur. i.e. you play for love of the sport
@blaizethefootylegend "@clarkey6890 First of all, AFL is much older than Gaelic football, so it can not possibly be a hybrid of Gaelic." love you too babe ;) xoxxo
@blaizethefootylegend He never said the GAA was professional, he said it was played at a professional level as in they don't get paid, which makes it even more impressive that they go to work all day and then go training, every night of the week for some. Then they play a match like that and get up for work the next morning while your precious AFL players have to take a day off to "recover".
Have some respect and get the chip off ur shoulder, yes we all like your sport too, fell better now?
@AdamR2468 You can not consider a sport to be played at a professional level, if they are not being paid.
To be a professional, the sport must be their profession or career.
So you cannot describe your amateur sport as being played at a PROFESSIONAL level, because that simply does not make any sense. (My eyes are green, yet they are blue)
Also, AFL player need recovery day at the pool and ect. This is because it is a hard sport than GAA
What you consider to be a 'big hit', we consider a knock.
@blaizethefootylegend I've seen AFL, in fact I have seen our AMATEURS take our our professionals in the International Rules series and knock our guys on their asses. So how much of a sport can it be when the professionals can be beaten by a bunch of amateurs?
@AdamR2468 Do you honestly think that a professional AFL club, would give up their best players, to play against a bunch of nobodies?
You play against our second rate players. Also we knock you on your asses, i don't know what you were watching. Finally, the International Rules is there purely for revenue, we keep Ireland in the game to make it more exciting for the viewers. To bad we haven't played International Rules for a couple of years, apparently your country is too poor.
@blaizethefootylegend well they did and we beat ye more often then we should have. Haha ye keep us in the game to make it more exciting? Who exactly would you play otherwise numbnuts?
Its not that the country is too poor, its that it got too violent.
@AdamR2468 ...It is that your to poor. We keep you in the game to make more cash. Stop kidding yourself, ammeters could not REALLY beat the AFL players.
@AdamR2468 YOU CAN KEEP A TEAM IN A GAME!!! Are you fucking retarded?!?! You deliberately take out your good players, don't use any tactics and tell your team not t go in hard. You obviously know fuck all about sports, so fuck off
@blaizethefootylegend Dear fool, its obvious you have never played hurling and simply like to talk big about things you have no knowledge about.(which makes you look like an idiot, much to the entertainment of us other you-tubers) When you do open your small mind and give it a try, then you can come back with a decent comment. that is all.
ps if you do respond to this without trying it you are stupid.
As an Australian, This game is crazy, We get the all Ireland final live around 3am Melbourne time each year and it's so fantastic to watch, fantastic to watch players play for the love of the team and not money.
@MrKleosau what a load of fucken bullshit!!! The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist...the greatest trick the GAA ever pulled was...convincing their sportsman that they dont need money!!!
@tripptytripper Ireland doesn't have a big enough population to sustain a professional league. Look at the soccer leagues, notice we only have 4 professional rugby clubs. Ireland is too small for a professional league of the size required and anyway with professionalism will come transfers so we'll see the biggest hurling counties taking all the best players. It'll come down to a shoot out between Cork, Tipp, KK and probably Dublin every year. Not too different to now but still wont be worth it
@AdamR2468 you obviously work for the GAA...there is a big enough interest and market for hurling. the industry is worth millions and millions. and players have to pay their own way and drive hundreds of km's to get to training...what a con job!!! and dont tell me its a matter of pride...no wonder the GAA is losing so many of its athletes to rugby and soccer...and then they complain...if i was irish, this would be a no brainer!!!
@tripptytripper They get paid expenses, gym membership, etc. It is a lot better now, since the Cork strikes anyway. Yes the GAA gets 82,000 people for an All Ireland Final or the Semis but what about Carlow versus Wicklow? Leitrim vs Longford? I agree that the GAA screws both the players and fans (ticket prices, venues etc) but at the same time 4.5 million people isnt large enough to have two professional leagues consisting of 64 teams (One hurling and football team each county)
@MrKleosau Really? I've seen it twice in my whole life. It's not advertised. Yeah, the amateur thing adds to it. I can't understand why the game is not shown on TV here in Melbourne more (the hurling and the football)... and why only 2 Tests and not 3, in the International Rules? I'd like to watch the All-Ireland Final (both codes) if I still can - is it on channel 7 or whatever or on Foxtel? And what day? We're in the bloody dark down here.
@MasKedButTrue Again that is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. Wow ye were better this decade (we'll leave out what might have happened if it wasn't for the Cork strikes) but to say that KK are never in the same class as cork regarding skill?
