the italy, france and portugal squads in 2000, 2004 and 2006 were all so much better than the 2010 spain squad. seriously spain are a bunch of diving twats, these guys were real competitors. if spain scored in the 119th minute they would just start making subs and passing the ball around to waste time but these guys came back for more, real football, this was a prime example of how beautiful the game of football can be.

SPAIN didn't play nearly as well as they could have throughout WC 2010, and they still won it with relative ease. They possessed the ball 60-70% of every game they played. @kinkeezie i agree the games in the world cup were not just, paraguay should have retaken a penalty, mesut ozil was fouled in the box and germany got told to play on, portugal was extremely unlucky not to score and had a man sent off for no good reason as did hugo estrada when spain played chile. so now the games werent just, spain were extremely lucky and did not deserve to win the world cup. however every step of the way in 2006 italy and france faced more than formidable opponents and won

But it was not Del Piero's cool finish what I most remember, but Cannavaro's warrior instinct at the start of the play.
