Spain 1 Paraguay 0. Spain 1 Germany 0. Spain 1 Holland 0. SPAIN = WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS. Argentina is not better than Spain. Neither is Portugal...Dude they just won the world cup. Of course there is going to be a hangover. The Argentina game wasn't that long after the World Cup and Argentina was still smarting from their 4-0 thumping by Germany, so they had added motivation. The recent loss to Portugal was a friendly to promote the joint World Cup Bid of the 2 countries. Not that meaningful...
the italy, france and portugal squads in 2000, 2004 and 2006 were all so much better than the 2010 spain squad. seriously spain are a bunch of diving twats, these guys were real competitors. if spain scored in the 119th minute they would just start making subs and passing the ball around to waste time but these guys came back for more, real football, this was a prime example of how beautiful the game of football can be.
@PablotheCokeEscobar You probably mean France (1998), Italy (2006), and Portugal (not sure why you are mentioning them, because they never won the world cup). No. Italy dives more than ANYBODY. Portugal plays pretty dirty as well. Not saying Italy is a dirty team. I actually like them a lot. SPAIN didn't score a lot of goals in this most recent World Cup, but if you really think they aren't as good as the teams you are mentioning you are nuts. They are a VERY GOOD team. VERY VERY GOOD.
@kinkeezie i mentioned protugal because they were a very good team at the time, also spain current are not better than the teams i mentioned, they would just walk all over spain if the teams from the era i mentioned played the current spain, they just would not be able to cope with such intense pressure and would not be able to crack the defence of the teams i mentioned. passing wise all the teams i mentioned are more superior than spain, thrust me italy dives granted, however no one beats spain
@PablotheCokeEscobar I don't think you realize how good Spain is right now. They are so good that Cesc Fabregas doesn't even get into games. I am assuming you know who that is...If you think any of the teams you are mentioning would "walk all over Spain" you are wrong. SPAIN didn't play nearly as well as they could have throughout WC 2010, and they still won it with relative ease. They possessed the ball 60-70% of every game they played. They have no weaknesses: GK-DEF-MF-FW. You are wrong
@kinkeezie just because cesc doesnt get played doesnt mean that the spanish line up is strong, it means the manager is an idiot, who realistically is going to replace fabregas? also thrust me france and italy of the period i mentioned had much better passing and also had 60 - 70 % passing during the time, thats no excuse.
@PablotheCokeEscobar Well I wouldn't say the manager is an idiot, because they won the World Cup. I don't understand your question about Fabregas? Who is going to replace him? What I was saying is that they are so good that HE DOESN'T EVEN PLAY. He would start, and play 90 minutes for ANY of the other teams you listed. In the World Cup, SPAIN actually played a 4-3-3 with Pedro and Iniesta as wingers, and Busquets, Alonso, and Xavi as midfielders. I can tell English is not your first language...
@kinkeezie what? how do you gather that my first language isnt english, because i dont agree with you? also by saying cesc doesnt play you are implying that the spanish 11 is so good that they dont need cesc, clearly your the stupid one here. and yes i believe all the players you named are better than cesc, by miles.
@PablotheCokeEscobar Because your comment made absolutely NO SENSE. You responded to my claim that Fabregas would start and play 90 minutes for the Italy and France teams you are mentioning, by asking "realistically who is going to replace Fabregas?". That makes NO SENSE. Then you ended your comment by saying "that's no excuse". No excuse for what? I am guessing you are a spanish speaker who speaks english as a second language. Not insulting you...SPAIN is DEF. better than Italy and prob. France
@kinkeezie seriously mate you are getting the wrong impression i am not spanish, infact i hate spain, guess where im from, also by saying that fabregas doesnt get started for the spanish side suggests you mean to say that the spanish starting 11 is incredible, which it is not compared to the 2000, 2004 and 2006 squads i mentioned. by the thats no excuse i mean that saying spain have 60-70 percent possession every game does not mean they are better than the teams i mentioned
@PablotheCokeEscobar No way to tell what which teams are better if they never play. I just think you are grossly underestimating the quality of the SPAIN national team right now. I don't think any team EVER would "walk all over" this SPAIN team. All I was saying is that the scores of their games in this most recent World Cup are misleading. They don't do SPAIN justice. They dominated every team that they played against. The France team you are mentioning was pretty amazing, but still...
@kinkeezie i agree the games in the world cup were not just, paraguay should have retaken a penalty, mesut ozil was fouled in the box and germany got told to play on, portugal was extremely unlucky not to score and had a man sent off for no good reason as did hugo estrada when spain played chile. so now the games werent just, spain were extremely lucky and did not deserve to win the world cup. however every step of the way in 2006 italy and france faced more than formidable opponents and won
@mubpfc spain beat portugal when it mattered. And Spain beat germany who beat argentina 4-0. And spain won Euro 2008. Also, Spain is ranked #1 in the world by FIFA as of 4/5/2011, so your exaggarated friendly-match losses are worthless to prove how Spain is worse.
@PablotheCokeEscobar You are saying that Didier Deschamps, Robert Pires, Emmanuel Petit, 21 year old Patrick Vieira, Gattuso, Pirlo, De Rossi, and Perrota are all better than Cesc Fabregas...I don't think ANY of those players are better than Fabregas. You can MAYBE argue that Pirlo, De Rossi, and Vieira (for defensive purposes) are as good as him, but again...Fabregas would still start for France (1998) or Italy (2006). If you don't think so you are just wrong.
@PablotheCokeEscobar I'd like to see you coach a national team to WC victory. your country has obviously never won the WC. Every team who has won has been lucky and/or cheated, so stop being a little, whiny, b**ch.
@Gurkan8994 germany 1974, that wasnt lucky, also thats a bold statement saying every team cheats or get lucky. also what the fuck are you on about saying id like to see you coach a team to victory, i havent took a swing at the spanish manager have i? finally so what if holland havent won the world cup, our team is the best in the world right now, spain just dived and cheated their way to the wc trophy, we played better
@PablotheCokeEscobar Cesc Fabregas would start for ANY OTHER international team, and he doesn't even play for SPAIN...What I am saying is that they don't even make a concerted effort to get him into games. That is disgusting. He is a top 30 player in the entire world
@sinamadboy Playing goalie and smiling, because he knows his team is so ridiculously good defensively that he will probably never have to even face any shots the entire tournament. Just admiring his team

This is why i will never cheer for italy. Everytime they win, all the fans act so cocky and don't even respect the opponent for playing a hard match. I'm not talking about the italian players, but the fans who cheer like that.
... as opposed to the rest of the world, eg England, germans, Americans, French etc..., whose fans act with great respect and dignity for their opponents.
i get tears everytime i see this, and it was because i stood by italy all the way, this year made it because of all those other years of disapointment
yeah ITALIAN beat fucking international germany who consist of Polish players like Podolski , Trochowski , Borowski and Klose ... , the best day in my life
Lol, why? Because some dumb Australian decided to slide tackle inside the box? And even if Italy didn't get the penalty kick Australia didn't have the manpower to score in extra time. Italy would have won that game regardless of the penalty kick. Don't be one of those people who rely on the Australian PK excuse.
We know Australia isn't at the level to reach a world cup final yet, but they're getting there. What footyboy14 i think meant to say was that the mentality of the Italian players to always be thinking to milk a free kick or penalty should be taken out of the game we all love, it ruins it for everyone. But other than that, well done Italia, see you in South Africa. I will be there with my Australian brothers in arms.

Simply champion; the most mesmerising two minutes of football EVER! Civilization, Renaissance art, Lamborghini, Barolo wine, and the 2006 World Cup semi-final brings Italian masters to the fore again. How Grosso and Del Piero stoked the ball is beyond words. It's... silk. This was Italian Football as art in motion. Forza Italia indeed!
YES...and everyone says that Italy are defensive. zzz, boring! Say something different for once! For your information there is a BIG difference between being 'defensive' and being 'good at defence', Italy are the latter. and if Germany, Brazil etc were so 'attacking' why didn't they beat Italy and win the Cup? At the end of that game Italy had 4 forwards on! (Totti, Gilardino, Iaquinta and Del Piero), is that defensive? They wanted to win and they did with 2 fabulous goals! They buried Germany!
Grosso was up in an attacking position along with several other Italian players. They wanted to win this match and were not playing for extra-time. Excellent tactics by Lippi and they were rewarded supremely with one of the best goals of the tournament!!
cada vez que veo este video o cualquier video donde esten plasmados estos momentos simplemente es ser feliz... estos jugadores tendran una minima idea de lo feliz que pueden hacer a un puñado de gente??? gracias italia.... italia por siempre!!!
After Grosso's goal Germany was all over but Italy sealed it on a classic counterattack. But it was not Del Piero's cool finish what I most remember, but Cannavaro's warrior instinct at the start of the play. The way he sprinted and recovered the ball when Germany was pressuring the most, got burned in my memory forever. One of those great plays defenders make but that no one talks about. I'm glad the clip shows it as part of the second goal. See what I talk about at 0:58
Im from Greece but i love Italy the same...Forza Italia...!!!!!!!!!
