Ultimately salsa dancing is about looking good and having fun. The pros have the "looking good" part down because they do everything perfectly but they usually miss the "having fun" part. This couple was very entertaining because they looked good enough and they had a lot of fun.

Lol there's no such thing as "ballroom salsa". There's Casino (Cuba), NY Style (similar to Puerto Rican style), LA Style, Columbian, and Cumbia. There's all legitimate forms of salsa. Of course ignorants who don't really have any knowledge of the dance will show themselves claiming what is "real" salsa and what isn't. I'm over it. Oh and yeah NY Style and LA both have a lot of rumba guaguanco and pachanga, if the dancer is good.

Uno se llama " Bailando rumba guaguanco y casino en El Gran Casino, La Habana, Cuba" y el otro se llama " Rueda de casino- Jovenes de Santiago de Cuba" son videos con musica diferente pero en ambos se puede apreciar el ritmo nato que tienen los cubanos.

I think the best thing you could have done was post this. It proves that casino lives in the heart where ever it is welcomed. NOt limited to a place or location. I agree with the ball room salsa statement also vs. real Casino danced to timba. They need to get Rumba right as well. The rumba I see in ball room does not represent guaguanco, or yambu and the other styles and is very stiff when u watch it. This is the real stuff. Thank you so much for posting it.

I'm sorry but I think this is the ugliest style of Salsa dancing I have ever seen. It looks like wrestling. The woman's posture is horrible and it often looks like she is about to punch him in the head. It isnt very romantic or smooth or in-syn looking. Its like they are dragging each other around. NY On-2, CA On-1, Colombian styles are all much better I think.
i don't agree with u... it looks like wrestling?¿ i think the postures are much more comfortable than in the other styles, even though i like them too. but in cuban style you can get your own position and its not necessary to follow any line such as in L.A style. and it depends on each person to look romantic dancing salsa or not. although each style is different, i think salsa is salsa and everyone has his favourite style

what is ballroom salsa? my girlfriend, who's from peru, is dope at salsa but taught me a style that's not the typical back and forth movement but more a side to side movement like the basic steps in merengue. I'm pretty good at merengue and just learned it by going to a bunch of latino dance parties but salsa seems a little difficult for me :S
there are different styles of danging salsa. and you will always found similituds between how to dance different things such Merengue, salsa, Mambo.... salsa came from the mix of many rythms as guaguanco and son....

I play bass and am a singer in a salsa band, plus I dance LA style, i know about rhythm, if the tempo is slow etc, u still dont have to take big steps like that, u can easily slow down a bit keeping in time, that just looks awful...is this something associated with casino style dancing?

When I first posted this video, I wrote in the description column that I don't know who the female dancer is. However, if anybody can verify her name, I would be happy to edit the description to include it. I agree that she does a great job in this video!

Now this is salsa dancing! Look at how much fun they are having. Cuban style is the best !!!! Well, at least I think so. I could care less what anyone else says. I'm entitled to my own opinion.

For those who feel offended by this comment don't take personally, every country has their ways of dancing salsa, and I was born and lived in Cuba and this is the Cuban style. I did not say people from other nationalities couldn't dance, but every country has their ways. And this is a Cuban show

@PatsBooks And for the dancing part there is also European contribution , in africa the was never pair dancing it was only induvidual or in group dancing and pair dancing came from europe where a man and women hold hands and do spins etc....also there is a big spanish flamengo influence in salsa dancing so you can be ignorant all you want about only african contribution but these are facts.

No hay nada que hacer, este chinito baila mejor que muchos de esos payasos acrobatas que participan en los campeonatos mundiales de salsa, donde solo dan vueltas como trompo sin dar pasos de salsa. Y para ser de otra cultura le ponga 100 puntos.

Es la verdad lacucaroja, ahora creen que la salsa es un circo y estan muy equivocados, la salsa no solamente se baila dando vueltas toda la noche, hay que ponerle sabor, y dar pasitos de salsa.

I'm sorry but I think this is the ugliest style of Salsa dancing I have ever seen. It looks like wrestling. The woman's posture is horrible and it often looks like she is about to punch him in the head. It isnt very romantic or smooth or in-syn looking. Its like they are dragging each other around. NY On-2, CA On-1, Colombian styles are all much better I think.

i don't agree with u... it looks like wrestling?¿ i think the postures are much more comfortable than in the other styles, even though i like them too. but in cuban style you can get your own position and its not necessary to follow any line such as in L.A style. and it depends on each person to look romantic dancing salsa or not. although each style is different, i think salsa is salsa and everyone has his favourite style

what is ballroom salsa? my girlfriend, who's from peru, is dope at salsa but taught me a style that's not the typical back and forth movement but more a side to side movement like the basic steps in merengue. I'm pretty good at merengue and just learned it by going to a bunch of latino dance parties but salsa seems a little difficult for me :S

there are different styles of danging salsa. and you will always found similituds between how to dance different things such Merengue, salsa, Mambo.... salsa came from the mix of many rythms as guaguanco and son....
salsa from cuba it called casino...

Candeelaaa el chinito lo que tiene es SAOCO!! ese es un Cubano mas del barrio chino de la Habana,para bailar asi hay que nacer en la isla, el ritmo y el swing se mete hasta en los huesos..desde chiquiticos es lo que se ve en las calles, eso esta en el ambiente, en el dia a dia de cada cubano. NO ES ACADEMICO, es CUESTION DEL ADN!!

haha ur trying to teach me rhythm?? I play bass and am a singer in a salsa band, plus I dance LA style, i know about rhythm, if the tempo is slow etc, u still dont have to take big steps like that, u can easily slow down a bit keeping in time, that just looks awful...is this something associated with casino style dancing?
