  • THIS is the reason I'm learning Japanese.

  • Very interesting, English subtitles would be much appreciated.

  • @vonUtz Learn Japanese, it's very easy.

  • Why do they put that paper in their mouths, is it so they dont kiss or sneeze on the sword, could someone tell me?

  • @ijsaenz It’s so they don’t get their breath on the sword. It’s a very formal and strict method of sword viewing which not all collectors / dealers, not even in Japan, observe but if someone else is doing it you’d better do it too! Breath on the sword would be bad, especially for these extremely high-value examples, because it would promote rust and damage the art-grade polish over time. Saliva on the blade would be an order of magnitude worse.

  • HOLY COW A *REAL* MASAMUNE!!!!!

  • What a nice finish with the sword viewing presentation for the children. Can you imagine trusting an average class of American students to behave that maturely and handle deadly weapons, while appreciating them as art objects and historical artifacts? I’m not sure I can, sadly...

  • Wow, a lot of extremely famous smiths in that exhibition. But then again it is the Sano museum, no surprise there.

  • I would love to go see this exhibition.

  • oh how i wish i could understand and speak japanese i really do love studying samurai swords and thair history aswell as the famouse shoguns and warlords behind it all
