In ten years i wont remember any tasteless mw missions with no proper storyline. BUT this soundtrack will never be erased from my memory. Game makers underestimate the power of the soundtrack these days. Look at legend of zelda and timesplitters 2 for example. They are like pixel porridge but the soundtracks made the game more real than any of these NEW cods.
@Redlew96 Not a lot of games these days have a decent soundtrack anymore... Very sad really. My first CoD was CoD 1, and the soundtrack was pretty good. It reminded me of Homeworld series soundtracks in quality.

@philosophy7575 Yeah the opening scene to the game, when the city of Stalingrad is seen for the first time as its burning and the entire sky is blood red and filled with smoke and embers. this track is approperate because the impression of the city is like an image out of Dante's Inferno.

@Comrade4561 If I recall correctly Zhukov lined his men up in stalingrad and had every certain number of each one (like every 4th or 7th) shot, so they could preserve ammo/weapons. I'm not sure if thats right though so take it with a grain of salt.

@Comrade4561 Don't listen to him, that's not true at all lol. Quite honestly most of the myths of Stalingrad depicted in games originated from equally misinterpreted movie scenes. The Russians didn't have enough ammunition but only perhaps 1 out of every 10 were without rifles at this particular battle on the Volga bank. Also the Russians didn't kill there own unless they were consider spies, traitors and deserters like every country did at the time of the war.

If they would have won, Russia would have lost and Germany would then be supplied with a terrible amount of natural resources that they desperately needed. @mrharmonica100 depends on how busy it is. i mean if your bleeding or have broken bones then they will take you in right away because your priority with bad injuries and they put you first, but if you have the flu or anything else minor you just wait in the waiting room, and in my small town with waiting rooms full of elderly people, i can ussually be seenby a doctor within the hour. so I dont complain.

@aragax Little odd considering the Soviets under Stalin basically never showed Christian music. Man, this was a perfect fit. This was without a doubt, the only one of the Call of Duty games were you could get attached to the people in the game. This scene is forever embedded in my mind.

@Comrade4561 Don't listen to him, that's not true at all lol. Quite honestly most of the myths of Stalingrad depicted in games originated from equally misinterpreted movie scenes. The Russians didn't have enough ammunition but only perhaps 1 out of every 10 were without rifles at this particular battle on the Volga bank. Also the Russians didn't kill there own unless they were consider spies, traitors and deserters like every country did at the time of the war.

@mrharmonica100 A war is won or lost according to the cost vs gain . And we lost a lot . Many cities were simple ruins . Male population was severely dwindled (men are still only 43% of Russian population) . Why send people to certain deaths ? Why send soldiers who you can't arm to fight and not keep them in reserves instead ? Why kill all but the most fanatically loyal officers in your army ? Stalin was a very sick man . @Comrade4561 True, the russians lost a ton of soldiers. u might even say a few million. BUT Stalingrad was the point of no return for the Nazis. If they would have won, Russia would have lost and Germany would then be supplied with a terrible amount of natural resources that they desperately needed. Stalin knew this. so he threw everything he had at the invaders. Stalin is a dirty murderer, but i would say he almost had to do that to stop the Nazi war machine. and it worked. thats all im saying.

@mrharmonica100 nyet, Russia would never stop fighting until the last man died. hitler may have took moscow, he might of even taken Stalin himself, but the Russian people would not stand down and let a man who looked at them as animals, and might have slaughtered them as such, occupy their country. A resistance would form like it did in france, and would not stop, not if hitlers armys occupied every inch of the motherland from atlantic to pacific, the russian people would fight until the end.

@speed150mph actually russia hated stalin and at first welcomed the germans. but the nazis of course were jerks and killed many innocent ppl. thus, the russians fought harder for there land. and im not so sure russia would have kept fighting after they lost stalingrad since communism is crap and everyone knew it.

@mrharmonica100 look into the history of russia, the russians never once allowed anyone occupy their motherland. Your right, they hated Stalin, but they wouldnt live under Hitler. You say your not sure if they would. i know they would. If they lose Stalin, they still have a reason to fight. Even under communism, the russia is the land of the people. The people always rise up against the opressor. and by the way, it wasnt the russians that welcomed the germans, it was the ukrainians.

@speed150mph i no a bit about russia. how they never gave up to Napoleon and how lenin came to power and such. but there is no doubt that russia never rlly had a truly professional army until after stalingrad. just look at there uniforms and lack of weapons and supplies. as for the ukrainians, i stand corrected. but russia was unstable (polictally)so if hitler would have shown kindness to them, im still betting that they would have let him take over.

But lets just end it with, Russia was a great, and terrible. they were a friend and an enemy. it would have been a far harder war without them. And the Russians can keep their pride in knowing that in the history of their vast nation, no country has ever successfully invaded, though many tried. they were also the only country that could ever compete with the united states. says alot.

History is very useful and interesting and im sure it will repeat itself someday. we will once again have terrible dictactors who attempt to rule the world and threaten to wipe out races; and once again a group of nations will unite to defeat it. i can count at least 3 times wen this has happened and russia always seems to be on the winning side :)

I can already see history repeating itself. Obama is turning the US socialist, Russia is turning democratic, though they need to get rid of Putin. @mrharmonica100 yes it would. i find it funny. i speak of russia and the US, and right in between the 2. In Canada, Russias smaller democratic twin, and sorta of funny, we are both the US and Russias neighbour to the north. though in Russias case you travel north half way, and south the other.

@mrharmonica100 depends on how busy it is. i mean if your bleeding or have broken bones then they will take you in right away because your priority with bad injuries and they put you first, but if you have the flu or anything else minor you just wait in the waiting room, and in my small town with waiting rooms full of elderly people, i can ussually be seenby a doctor within the hour. so I dont complain.

@aragax Little odd considering the Soviets under Stalin basically never showed Christian music. Man, this was a perfect fit. This was without a doubt, the only one of the Call of Duty games were you could get attached to the people in the game. This scene is forever embedded in my mind.
