yep, I had this in my head, starts at 1.45 bass intro is haunting, then the keyboard to organ to drums/ a fabulous intro that is with my from 70's till this moment that I hear it again. Thanks for the upload, I had the album.
Thanks to Pip Pyle, the drummer here, such a crazy and brilliant player, he plaied in most of the important canterbury bands and he is beloved by all the people that knew him, he passed away in 2006 but still living in our hearts
Don't forget Phil Miller. Although his guitar doesn't feature strongly in this track, it was a major identifier of the Hats as well as Matching Mole, National Health, and In Cahoots.
The girls were the Northettes. The band took its name from road signs out of London that were signed .... umm... for Hatfield and somewhere else.
Hadn't heard H&TN before - very interesting; lovely vocals & fascinating melodies; guitar sound/2nd half very reminiscent of Fred Fripp & H Cow. Thanx for posting!

I like Egg's Prelude better. Actually Egg is just generally better than Hatfield, but that's just me.

Would love to hear the "Northettes" girls sing a lot more - explore more killer harmonies. So blood-pressure-lowering those girls with beauty-voices.

Amazing to find Hatfield. Use to listen to them in high school. I still get serious goose bumps when listening to those female harmonies.
