  • what does paprika do?

  • Is Paneer Tofu? or Cheese? Can you please tell me the name of the Paneer you used (brand)?

    Thank you

  • @mysterious018 Paneer is made of milk. You can mate it at home. Boil milk and squeeze some lemon in it. The milk will separate. Strain it! And tie it in the muslin cloth. Make it very very tight. Next day you will have your paneer. Tofu is made with soy. I think if you want to try this recipe with tofu. Use hard tofu and not soft.

  • what can i use instead of corn starch to make the gravy thick?

  • @sabhahify

one spoon of besan. stir-fry the besan with cumin seed

  • I've got to try this to impress my wife. With basmati rice or with paan, which is more traditional?

  • Great!

  • thanks for ur specious time for us...

  • nice one..amazing dish..thanx for sharing..!

  • hi thankx u for ur wonderful recepies and presenting them nicely ... all the best :)

  • If I wanted to freeze this, should I freeze the paneer and sauce seperately? (I make my own paneer from our goats milk.)

    Thanks! :)

  • @pisceschick99 Yes that will work

  • @Manjulaskitchen Wonderful! Thank you, Manjula! :)

  • Amazing!!! Thank you.

  • when did she add the garam masala?;(

  • @persianmar

    Towards the end.

  • Just made this..came out awesome!!!!..i added an extra tomato for a little more gravy..everything else as per recipe...

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • Your dish looked really nice, but i am thinking if 4 tomatoes would be too much? Won't it be a bit sour?

  • hi manjula i got married to an indian guy and your recipes help me much please when i freeze paneer where is better i put in contanier or which is better thanks.

  • @jatindermirja

I like to freeze the paneer in freezer ziploc bags but before freezing I like to cut the paneer in cubes.

  • hi manjula,

  • Aunty..Ur sooo humble...I think your great, and your recipes are wow! (I don't have a mother, but i can see my mother in you)!

Keep up the great work..... :D

  • It looks great, I will try the same recipe myself

  • So, is asafetida fennel powder or seed? I've never heard of it before, where can I purchase it?

  • @yukipillows It's called Heeng or Hing in Hindi. You can find Asafoetida in any Indian grocery store. :)

  • Aunty can you post Paneer tikka which is used for snacks not with chapati.

  • when you say "red chili powder," do you mean cayenne? or something else?

  • What is the colorless ingredient for the gravy? Where can I find it or is it necessary to use it? Your recipes look wonderful and easy:)

  • @ljoseph38 it is corn starch

  • Alot of people use cream (whipping cream) or yogurt to the tikka masala. It looks yummy regardless ;-)

  • where did you get those cute little bowls?

  • @yazyh

    these are tea candle holder

  • arent you suppose to use onion in thiS? i was just wondering will the taste be the same on what you did to many indian resturants?

  • @wzzp144

These recipes are not resturant recipes, these are home cooking.

  • @Manjulaskitchen Does the hing add a cooked onion flavor? I read that hing taste a little like cooked onions and garlic. I noticed you do not use a lot of onions or garlic. I have not yet found asafetida in stores. Anyway I really enjoy your videos. =)

  • @wzzp144 yea normally it does have a cream, onion and garlic added aswell but i noticed she doesnt use onion or garlic in any of her recepies..........i think its coz of her jain religion.........

  • @wzzp144

I usually put diced green peppers and diced onions in the gravy... tastes VERY good!

  • @wzzp144 Well, this has been a question by many of us on her videos. I have been following her videos since 2007... I have learned that she follows the Jain faith (Jainism). My Jain friend helped me understand that Jains don't use garlic and onion in their cooking. You may research more about this online. This is probably the reason you won't find auntie's videos with garlic/onion in them. :) Hope this helps. :)

  • @wzzp144

Personally I love onions in this, but they will overpower all of the other flavors. Omitting them lets you taste the tomato and spices. Sometimes it's better that way.

  • thank you so much manjula aunty for sharring your great recipes i really appricate it : )

  • aunty manjula, was that home made paneer? and what is garam masala?

  • Awesome recipe from scratch :)

  • Hi Manjula, I've tried paneer but everytime i fry it it sticks in the pan and it just ends up mushy. Any tip?

  • @74Emerald

I think paneer is not firm enough, squeeze the water more from paneer.

  • @74Emerald I agree. Your paneer must be too moist.

  • hi aunty ji i was just wondering will i have to make the paneer at home? or can i buy it ready made at a desi store? thank you :)

  • @xXxAngelenexXx

you can buy the paneer at Indian stores.

  • This recipe looks absolutely delicious but I have a questions. For the gravy you didn't add the garam masala and said you would later. When exactly did you add it? After the corn starch or before?

    Thank you!

I have been looking for a good paneer tikka recipe on you tube and have not been able to find one. I am hoping that yours is it! :)

    I'll be trying it today!

  • Is there an american equivalent to paneer that is not tofu? Thank you so much!

  • I'm not even planning to make this but I'm watching it just b/c i'm craving indian food & Manjula is AWSOME!!

  • @glittersale I think that plain flour will also be good (it usually is). The difference is, that corn starch is very fine, and as such, almost impossible to detect in the final dish. So, if you use flour, maybe sift it first, and make sure to keep all the lumps out! :) hope this helped

  • Aunty, I simply love this recipe. I have a qs. How can we make the gravy more creamy? Can we add yogurt or fresh cream (malai)? If yes, then in wht quantity n wht stage?

What is the best substitute of fresh cream (malai) in US? I could not find malai in the market anywhere.

    Thx again :) U ROCK...

  • @nidhiparoha

you may use yogurt or cream 2 to 3 spoons.

  • thank you Manjula! I have been waiting for this recipe! since the first time I tried this wonderful dish while I was in India I've been wanting to know how to make it! it is definetly one of my favourite dishes! thanks!

  • Looks delicious Aunty! Will definitely try this when I can be bothered going to buy some Paneer :-)

  • If you cant find the indian paneer. What is the substitute?

  • @humanseasons I've read that you can also press your own paneer using cottage cheese.

  • Paneer you can buy from Indian Grocery store.

  • OMG I'm so happy that you posted this! My husband and I love Tikka Masala. Ooooh I'm so excited to try this!

  • Aaah! I've been waiting for this recipe! Thank you Manjula.

  • Welcome back Aunty, thanks a lot for such a wonderful recipe.

  • Thanks so much Manjula. I've not seen many Indian recipes with cheese before, but that looks so good. I'm going to send a link to this video to my vegetarian friend Emz who loves both spicy food and cheese.

  • Tasty, Thanks.

  • This is really good! I'm going to use queso fresco as there is no indian grocery near me T_T (wikipedia says it is a good substitute...) Thank you Manjula

  • this looks really yummy

  • please makes lists of items used in description box...im new to thsi indian cooking thing, and im not familiar with all the names you mention... Id really appreciate it.

  • thank you

  • This is my husbands favorite! Thank you for the recipe :)

  • aunty u rock!! amazing recipe....will try it today!

  • I love this! since I'm vegetarian, it's great having the cheese rather than just vegetables. But I have trouble finding paneer. I'm not sure where to buy it. All I've ever seen is fresh ricotta

  • Soooo Delicious!! Thx so much for the recipe Manjula!!

  • I love watching your videos. Even though I don't know if I would make them, they help me see what I would like, so I know what to order at an Indian restaurant!

  • looks great! , whats that paneer made of"? it looks like cheese

  • yummm =]

    looks delicious!

  • Yummmy,....love this dish a lot.....

  • I never thought of marinating cheese. I gotta say though that only a great cook can fry cheese without it melting all over the pan. Is Paneer a hard cheese? Am trying to think of a substitute cheese.

  • Wonderful and easy recipe, thanx Manjule.

  • is paneer any special kind of cheese? i mean is it more salty kind, or harder kind, vegetable or any kind of animal cheese?

thank you manjula i love your show <3

  • yum, i will definitely try this

  • ooo that looks good

  • Very nice! ^_^

  • thnxxx auntie

  • Thanks for the recipe! Yummy! ^_^
