spanny, you seem to know gymnastics really well. can you maybe educate me on proper back handspring technique? there has been talk that jordyn does not have proper back handspring technique, or basics in general, and its pissing me off. why do people have to hate because she won? i just don't see the diference between her back handsprings and aliyas. and aliya's form is not impressive in my eyes. am i looking for the wrong things?
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 You know, we are all allowed to have our opinions. You might think you're right, and what if you are? The judges didn't catch it, or didn't think it was important. Either way, Jordyn won, and I don't think every judge in the arena conspired against Viktoria. I don't think devaluing Jordyn's hard work is a very nice thing to do. But since we are all allowed our opinions, you can keep on hating on the world champ. and pointing out seemingly unimportant her flaws.
@europatiger12 I'm not devaluing Wieber's work at all. It's the truth that her back handsprings need work. That is an opinion, but if you want to be a good gymnast, you need at least good basics. That, however, is a fact. I never said that I'm always right and I'm completely open to hearing your opinions and what you have to say. I actually don't hate Wieber and if you think back handsprings are "seemingly unimportant" for elites, then you'll never understand this sport at all.
@europatiger12 I'd have to take a closer look, but I can't think of anything wrong with her BHS off the top of my head. She cheats her takeoffs a bit after the BHS, like for her 2.5. They're much better than Aly's. Aly's head position is that of a turtle, when her chin should be closer to her chest. As for Jo, she seems to get good distance on the BHS, her legs are together, good shoulder position. Haters keep hatin'.
