i'm 22 and have loved this song since i first heard it riding around with my dad years back i've been looking for tabs for a good while and couldn't find any that worked this has been a great help thanks isodig
Thanks budd i got it,you could of sang and played the song through once, vut thanks i was looking for it in a , g,it matches the origanal 1st riff thanks lots again!!!
First of all - thanks for the great lesson! More importantly... but apparently you're going to think I'm kidding...but I KNOW I'm right....you should do a cover of this song using the exact deep toned vocal style you used toward the end of the video. Recored it and let us check it out. You are in no position to be the judge if you think the vocals were bad. Think of Joe Cocker doing the Beatles.
Does anyone know the strumming pattern for the acoustic guitar solo? Its too quite for me to decipher in a Down Up Down Up format (and yes i am new to this.)
One of my favorite songs and my father's all time favorite. I was trying to figure it out to play for him on his birthday, but having a lot of trouble with some of the chords. Thanks so much for the help, it was great!
thanks brother!!.. know i can play one of my favorites songs by Jethro tull!!.. its gonna take me a while to learn everything good,, jajaja. am better singing .. that playing. so.... dude. when you're playing.. i have the letter inside my mind.. cool bro.. see ya!!.-
When I learned the song, after the "shabby clothes" part, I play it, D# (x4), C#, F#, F#, E, B, D. (So D String, fret 1 (x4), A String fret 4, D String fret 4, 4, 2, A String fret 2, 5). It's easier for me. Legendary band for sure. Oh, I do the pinky thing too.
I hope the younger kids now adays realize how prolific and brilliant ian anderson was as a songwriter and guitarist.Benefit--cd is killer!very melodic composer.plus, they are killer live!
I agree, I got to see them live a few years back and it was amazing. My favorite Tull album is Minstrel, and it's been one of my overall favorites for almost 20 years now.
not to mention how clever ian anderson was in ripping(RRK) circular breathing whilst playing flute and singing simultaneously.ian's a shrude, guy! good for him!ian understands jazz.I'll have to check out "minstril I.T.G-cd". i know it's full of old school- scottish/u.k. folk acoustic root music influences..
this is awesome man...i think i will figure at least some of this out...though i have i feeling i might smash my guitar if i try to return to aqualung...lol...thanks for this bro,,,and feel free to add these vids to my indie music group...
Hey man, thank you for that. I'll transpose to keyboard, this music allows a great piano arrangement.
