I'd say regarding opinions on law, there is no "correct" opinion- merely one that wins out. I would say, that if we have to use terms such as "correct" that the correct law would be the one that the majority actually supports, or perhaps the one that is consistent with a series of principles that are adopted by a people to create a particular government.

Given a certain goal (such as a harmonious society in which individual members can best achieve happiness), one can make objective assessments on the means to those ends.
I suppose my original point: there is a reason that we have immigration laws. At this point, I'm not trying to argue the impact illegal immigration has on our economy, but let's say that hypothetically we could demonstrate that it does have such an impact, an overall negative one. Would it not be an objectively rendered law by Americans to maintain certain immigrants as "illegal"? I know it is majority opinion, but in a democracy, whose goal is to satisfy the most possible, this makes sense.

Immigration in general only contributes to social devolution of all races. A melting pot it not a good thing. It destroys unique cultures and blends them into some kind of modern smoothie. The United States has enough citizens as is, and with unemployment as it is now we really don't need anymore. As far as I'm concerned, we need to end all immigration. If anyone uses "my" SS# without my authorization they're committing and act that could lead to prosecution. It doesn't matter if that person is an immigrant or citizen. As long as taxes are withheld from their check, the Government STILL GETS THE MONEY. They won't write a refund check. You don't need to steal someones SS# to dummy one up. You live in dream land. At some point in your miserable life you bought into the bullshit that the only way you can get a SS# is by iddentity theft.

Do you consider the State some entity that is not needed or do you consider it a body of people? The concept of "true owner" implies that one has ownership over land by birthright rather than by earning it (by making productive use of the land). I find this to be bogus; a white person has to work hard and earn enough money to be able to actually buy land, and I think this should apply to everyone else.

Saying that, the issue here is that the local population wants to maintain their salaries and minimize competition. That is your issue here, not tax expenditure. Incarceration rates amongst immigrants in general are far lower than the native counterpart.

Slap me if this was covered already, but I think the argument over immigration is not that immigrants are standing on private property, but the effect (if any) on the economy.
After working in a hospital in L.A., I can safely say that yes, ER's are abused by those with no SS#. (Yes, welfare is abused by residents as well, but this is probably the single biggest issue). And surprise, CA doesn't have our tax refunds this year. That's an oversimplification, but no coincidence.

its all very well and good proposing market views of land, but at the end of the day we dont live in a society that is entirely market driven, only small portions of land are owned by individuals. So a welfare system is in place alongside the government owning plenty of land, therefore this system is abusable and is there to be taken advantage of.

I have lived next door to immigrants who sneak across and intentionally get pregnant and have a baby here to avoid getting deported. They then live off of welfare, and move from apartment to apartment destroying it without paying rent by using the three month squatter's law to live there without paying rent. Any money they do make is sent back to Mexico, and so can never benefit our economy.

the sensable thing would not be to dismantle welfare as these "hard-working" that are so often disgusted by immigrants taking advantage do need the help of the state to live. Some people truly depend on welfare whereas some take advantage (not just immigrants), so find a middleway between allowing in thos who will contribute and deporting those who have shown they cannot and wont, then regulate the welfare system for needful clients, rather than wanting clients.

Your argument is inherently fallacious by the simple fact that no private citizen owns border land. The government does not prevent illegal immigrants already in the country from traveling on land they have permission to, they stop people who are a legitimate drain on our resources.
Have you ever lived in a border town? I have. Until you've seen the effects firsthand, you cannot say there's no evidence its not a drain on the economy. I'll explain why in a second post.

On the other hand, MY WIFE, who is from the Bahamas, and makes more money than I, is being sent back because the USCIS lost her official medical documents and we had to supply a copy the second time. keep in mind that america is fucking with mexico which makes mexicans immigrate to the US and become cheap labour. Ron Paul would probably ease up that problem though since he's against NAFTA. I still dont see his immigration policy as necessarily wrong, as long as it's temporary, but the thing is that the state cant really enforce it, and the fact that an immigrant is illegal forces him to be cheap labour.

But the state is the sum total of the opinions of the people. The law is created by the legislative body that is elected by the people. Thus, if the law declares certain types of immigration "illegal" then the people are the ones saying they don't want certain immigrants to come here.
That being said, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your point.

Also, if the law says X it does not follow that everyone agrees with X. There is no singular entity called "the people" that has its own opinions seperate from individuals. That's the error of collectivism.
That being said, your basic premise that the state "is the sum total of the opinions of the people" is pretty dubious. Can you prove this?

I'd say regarding opinions on law, there is no "correct" opinion- merely one that wins out. I would say, that if we have to use terms such as "correct" that the correct law would be the one that the majority actually supports, or perhaps the one that is consistent with a series of principles that are adopted by a people to create a particular government.
You are right about the law not necessarily being the rendered opinion of the people. I'm focusing on how our government is supposed to work.

At this point, I'm not trying to argue the impact illegal immigration has on our economy, but let's say that hypothetically we could demonstrate that it does have such an impact, an overall negative one. Would it not be an objectively rendered law by Americans to maintain certain immigrants as "illegal"? I know it is majority opinion, but in a democracy, whose goal is to satisfy the most possible, this makes sense.
