@rickypro01 They're not intended to be a human-aggressive breed, and a pit bull who meets the standard for size is usually a bit small to be effective in Schutzhund. There is no "official" size, at least in the UKC, but 30-60# is what you'd see competing in an athletic event- although dogs at the larger end of the scale could work.

But do you not feel that the tires and the pulling are counterproductive to our cause? People will see these as aggressive acts and while they are legal, in most peoples eyes they are looked at as barbaric and cruel acts. @MRGHairify Pulling and tire or flirt poles are no different than water sports or agility, it's a competition a dog can take part in. And most people use flirt or tire poles as a way to exercise their dogs. They are not barbaric in the least, I've seen Jack Russel Terriers and other breeds do flirt poles as well, and many Mastiffs and other large breeds, like Malamutes, take part in pulling, it's not just a APBT thing, and neither are even used by dog men anyways.

Now as far as your argument with JRT and Mastiffs two thing, 1) they don't have a bad rap that we are fighting and, 2) I have heard dog fighters use this same argument as to why fighting should be legal. Never forget the victims of dog fighting of which there are too many over the years to comprehend. Report any dog fighting/animal abuse if you can to the police. Push for longer prison sentences for these monsters, the dog fighters, the people who attend and the ones who gamble on it. All these people are criminals and the ultimate cowards. What a great video, i myself used to breed pit bulls, and they are very noble animals in the kingdom, due to financial circumstances, I did have to let my 2 males, and female go, but, I did manage to breed 5 successful litters, all healthy chocolate red nosed pits, myself, wife, and 3 1/2 year old daughter love this video as it does remind us of the great family members we had to adopt into another close family..... 5/5 keep the video's coming good job!!!!!!!!!!

Wealthy families bought them up like crazy because they were easier to have around than an actual nanny and they could care for and protect the children. In WWII they were used as the face of America because we admired their tenacity and devotion. They once held the spot in popularity that golden retrievers do now. Media frenzy ruined their credibility as the amazing dogs they are.

I have a Pit Bull that is 3 months and he already knows HALF of a full grown dog! I'm so proud of him! His name is Durz. Or Durzy. Durzy is really his middle name. He has improved well! The only thing that is a bad habbit he has is very commin. He always nipps and chews on enything! Once he chewed a cord apart! He didn't swallow it luckly! He was only 12 months when that happend! I taght him "up". So if he's lieing down, i can say, "Up!" and he'll get up. It is also a sign of jumping as a trick!

Facts are, just as contact sports performers are usually more aggresive(not saying violent) than others, pitts are more aggressive than most dogs. Yet this does not make these people or dogs bad, it's the way you behave, but you must understand that it takes little to upset a fighter, dog or man and often the consequences are terrible. Pitts have killed children, so common sense, knowledge and control are the key.
It's really sad how people gave pitbulls such a notorious reputation when it's the owner's fault all along. Example? Some of the people living close to my house( not my direct neighbours THANK GOD) have a german shepherd and there's this dog I rescued a few winters back who sometimes follows me around. Each time the dog walks past the their yard, their dog barks and growls at my dog and once he even tried to open the yard door to get out...Thankfully, the owner barred it so only he can get out,

@mdslick1 There's about 30lbs difference from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier to the American Pitbull Terrier. Staffies are short and stocky while APBTs are taller and more lean. AmStaff is just another name people try to use for the APBT. Both breeds come from the same place but are absolutely different breeds, you can really tell the difference when they're side by side.

These dogs are not house pets, no one wants them to be either. Socialization has nothing to do with it. If you own a Pit Bulldog, just keep it away from other animals, plain and simple. Working you dog is much more important than socialization.

@ConiferTreez and if you put your pits around other dogs when they are young and through out their life they will not attack unless provoked. for example my pit i had named Athena i raised around other dogs she never attacked any of them unless one provoked her. my pit wouldnt attack unless provoked meaning one dog must bare teeth at her and that what set her off. but i mean bare teeth in a aggressive way not in a playful way. my pit weight was 44,5 LB bloodline Indian bolio. tbc.
@ConiferTreez Athena was only one of my pits i rased and helped raise. i had another named buddie which never attacked any dog. didnt like cat but he never attacked any dogs. his weight was 44.4 ILB bloodline ? when i was a kid we had a lot more pits, i would go through all the bloodlines but it will take to long. and they never attacked any other dog unless provoked.....

What a great video, i myself used to breed pit bulls, and they are very noble animals in the kingdom, due to financial circumstances, I did have to let my 2 males, and female go, but, I did manage to breed 5 successful litters, all healthy chocolate red nosed pits, myself, wife, and 3 1/2 year old daughter love this video as it does remind us of the great family members we had to adopt into another close family..... 5/5 keep the video's coming good job!!!!!!!!!!

You are my hero!!!! We adopted a pit bull today. He was used as a bait dog and has the scars to prove it! However he is the sweetest dog I have ever met!! He even let me take his bone out if his mouth and kissed my face before I gave it back! Pitties are awesome and completely misunderstood! Thank you for sharing this video....

@TheFara1979 Pit bull terriers used to be called "nanny dogs" because of their tolerance for children. Wealthy families bought them up like crazy because they were easier to have around than an actual nanny and they could care for and protect the children. In WWII they were used as the face of America because we admired their tenacity and devotion. They once held the spot in popularity that golden retrievers do now. Media frenzy ruined their credibility as the amazing dogs they are.

I have a Pit Bull that is 3 months and he already knows HALF of a full grown dog! I'm so proud of him! His name is Durz. Or Durzy. Durzy is really his middle name. He has improved well! The only thing that is a bad habbit he has is very commin. He always nipps and chews on enything! Once he chewed a cord apart! He didn't swallow it luckly! He was only 12 months when that happend! I taght him "up". So if he's lieing down, i can say, "Up!" and he'll get up. It is also a sign of jumping as a trick!

Congrats on the vid, lots of sensible comments, others understandibly biast. Facts are, just as contact sports performers are usually more aggresive(not saying violent) than others, pitts are more aggressive than most dogs. Yet this does not make these people or dogs bad, it's the way you behave, but you must understand that it takes little to upset a fighter, dog or man and often the consequences are terrible. Pitts have killed children, so common sense, knowledge and control are the key.

It's really sad how people gave pitbulls such a notorious reputation when it's the owner's fault all along. Example? Some of the people living close to my house( not my direct neighbours THANK GOD) have a german shepherd and there's this dog I rescued a few winters back who sometimes follows me around. Each time the dog walks past the their yard, their dog barks and growls at my dog and once he even tried to open the yard door to get out...Thankfully, the owner barred it so only he can get out,

When I looked outside, I saw him releasing his dog from the leash and he attacked and chased the dog I saved around. He even cornered him in my own yard and chased him back outside. The owner kept saying "get him" and pet his dog for doing so. My point? There are ONLY bad owners, never bad dogs...Keep that in mind people...

@mdslick1 There's about 30lbs difference from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier to the American Pitbull Terrier. Staffies are short and stocky while APBTs are taller and more lean. AmStaff is just another name people try to use for the APBT. Both breeds come from the same place but are absolutely different breeds, you can really tell the difference when they're side by side.

Quebec man may lose arm after pit bull attack
A 27-year-old Gatineau man could lose an arm after being attacked by HIS OWN PITBULLS on Sunday morning.
Police responded to a call at 8:45 a.m. and found the victim on the landing outside his second-floor apartment, with his arm and leg badly hurt.
Police couldn't get to the victim because one of the dogs was outside the residence. That dog was shot,
Police said he may lose that arm.

No other breed on the Planet is capable of. They are MUCH more than just some lazy house pet that you leech comfort/security off of. Believe it or not, dogs were not put on this Earth to make you happy. Originally, they had jobs. And it is downright cruel to deny them of carrying those jobs out

@ConiferTreez theres one thing i agree with you about is that pit are working breed, and they need something to do like walking pulling, and running. but the rest like people taking pits to the dog park? no its not them whos giving these dogs a bad name its the dog fighters and people who dont know anything about this lovely pit bull breed. which you are one of the people who gives a bad name to pit. pits needs to be exercised but not put into a pit to fight. only coward ass bitches fights dogs

apbts were much to lightweight to be hunting dogs (catch dogs)
Becuase of their haratige they need supervision & socilasion around other Dogs.
thats why irssposible owners give this breed a bad name. when an apbt attacks or hurts another dog they dont take repsoiblety for it.coz they dont socials their dogs.

@DogSoldier011 I agree with most of what you said, but the bottom line is people that keep them as pets do MUCH more damage than dog fighters do. These dogs are not house pets, no one wants them to be either. Socialization has nothing to do with it. If you own a Pit Bulldog, just keep it away from other animals, plain and simple. Working you dog is much more important than socialization.

@ConiferTreez their great peopledogs, and very usefuil on farm lands to keep coyoties off and other unwanted predator foxes wessels, raccoons, exc, apbts are very good compaions to i should add.
but its very naturle for apbts to be social around people :p

@DogSoldier011 who said they weren't great people dogs? they are not friendly with other animals, and that's perfectly fine. Just keep your bulldog AWAY from other animals, unless you are hunting with them, etc. It's these soft people that "rescue" these dogs and take them to the dog park. Those are the people that are giving the dog a bad name.

@ConiferTreez and if you put your pits around other dogs when they are young and through out their life they will not attack unless provoked. for example my pit i had named Athena i raised around other dogs she never attacked any of them unless one provoked her. my pit wouldnt attack unless provoked meaning one dog must bare teeth at her and that what set her off. but i mean bare teeth in a aggressive way not in a playful way. my pit weight was 44,5 LB bloodline Indian bolio. tbc.

@ConiferTreez Athena was only one of my pits i rased and helped raise. i had another named buddie which never attacked any dog. didnt like cat but he never attacked any dogs. his weight was 44.4 ILB bloodline ? when i was a kid we had a lot more pits, i would go through all the bloodlines but it will take to long. and they never attacked any other dog unless provoked.....
