The first few seconds of this clip are the most haunting, to me.

The crimson mask is brutal, and watching her struggle is hard too, but go back to the first several seconds and really look at her face. Look at her eyes; That's the look of someone who knows they are doomed.

Her only solace would have been Harry's comfort, and she didn't even get that.

Other characters in the series had deaths that were more vicious or violent, but in my mind Lisa's end was far and away the most tragic.

Just like eponychium said, Lisa was already dead. But she lived on in Alessa's dreams. It makes sense if you understand the game. You cant save Lisa like you can Cybil. Cybil was real and Lisa wasn't. Lisa was just part of the nightmare.

Although you can question how she dies in real life. I don't remember much about the game since I haven't played it in a while but my guess would be that she died from drug abuse.

Don't do drugs kids. Even in the video games you get fucked over if you do

After she realizes what she had become and Harry abandons her, Alessa decides she's no longer of any value and lets her die. This Lisa is a figment of Alessa's imagination, the real one died shortly before the game began. Don't confuse yourself with the red nurse, they're not one in the same.

ok here is what is going on:

Lisa has been taking care of Alessa for a long time. it has nearly driven her crazy doing so, you can see in the intro video that she tries to leave but Kaufmann stops her. He has been giving her White Claudia, a hallucinogenic drug to keep her there. Eventually she is drawn into Alessa's world permanently but she just doesn't know it.
