The USA is based alot on Britian.

The old sepereate Governmnet where the King choses his council, today, President Choses his cabinet. Seperate Parliament with a house of (former) land oweners (House of Lords) and an elected House (House of Commons). In the USA, the Senate, mostly Land Owners as the Agrucultrial committee has the largest members, and the Representatives.

@melonhead82 actually the us republic was heavily based on the french republic idea that ben franklin was taught by the french while he lived in france, which was based on the french monarchy so you are close.

Yet the French Republic was not secured untill after 1783. The French Monarchy was on the trhone, and it wasnt untill France went bankrupt for aiding the colonials did they start a Revolution. And there have been several revolutions since 1789, which was the first, which wanted the French Monarchy to be a constitutional one, very much similar to the British Constitutional Monarchy which has been around since 1689.
