  • I am buying one of these to power my whole house during power outages.

anything honda makes is quality....if honda made toasters, I would have one.

  • have been using one of these ...for occupy syracuse for music bands ,awesomely quiet.

  • SO IF I HAVE IT ON ECO MODE, IT WILL SOUND LIKE A MOPED WHEN MY AC TURNS ON?

  • you can convert that generator like i did to my two eu2000i units after hurricance katrina in new orleans to low pressure propane and natural gas while keeping gasoline ask for tri fuel option from uscarb.com or 1800 553 5608. send them the carberator to convert its worth it.

  • yes thank you very much I did find it. I didn't think that this generator was over $3000.00

  • Hi I am thinking of buying this model but the question I have I heard if I I can buy some sort of a plug to my breaker panel and be able to run my whole house on it for heat?

  • @saucenick

I think you are talking about installing a TRANSFER SWITCH. This device allows you to connect your generator safely to your house. I have such a devise on my house. It needs to be installed by a competent licensed electrician who knows the local codes etc. There are a number of YouTube sites that explain what that switch does. Just go to the YouTube search engine and type in, “Generator Transfer Switch”

    Good luck and be safe.

  • @saucenick I went with an interlock kit. Much cheeper than a Transfer switch. Look up interlock kit on YouTube

  • Please put a full load on it and then video tape it. The sound is much different then, although still much quieter than a non inverter type generator.

  • Believe it or not, computers are not very sensitive at all to AC fluctuations. Desktop computers have a power supply unit, which is full of capacitors, which do a very good job of filtering out any fluctuations. Laptops of course have a battery.

But man that thing is quiet. Although the quietest I've heard yet is a friend's EU3000, that thing is very quiet for a 6,500 watt. I think a good way to test the sound of a generator is set the camera down, walk to the generator and start talking.

  • Whats with all the trash cans?

  • Note that there is no load on it. It's at least twice as loud at rated load output.

  • very good video thanks.

  • How many hours on it?

  • @VivaLaBamEpisodes

At the time the video was done, the generator had about 90 hours on it. Thanks for asking

  • Thanks for posting this. I know it is hard to hear the true sound thru video but it is quiet. I was wanting to hear one before I dropped $2500 for one.

  • Dang i'd buy that for a dollar!! but can you run it on frogs teeth? as i can get them for free!!

  • whats the best diesel portable generator money can buy ? any known review web sites for generators?

  • @Moroccan4lifeone Go to the Consumer Report.

  • I live off grid and would be in a world of hurt if it wasn't for my eu6500. What a great device for those extended cloudy days of mountain winters. The video author is correct in saying that in reality this Honda is MUCH quieter than his camera microphone might make you believe.

  • NIce Honda Eu6500, they are an awesome generator. No you cant parallel these type of generators this generator only puts out 5500W continuously . you'll need a larger generator, only down side is it probably wont be an inverter type or as quiet as this honda.

  • Hi. Awsome generator. I have an EU2000i and love it.

Is it possible to link up two of the eu6500is generators througha parallel port, like you can on the EU2000?

I don;t think you can, but thought it was worth asking. i have to run 2-3 ACs in the summer and one 6500 KVA generator won't do it for me.
