sets my teeth on edge, like a little too much speed does . the best. I always knew sonic youth could not have written this . to rock'n'roll roots for the intellectuals...
@molecularash ugh STFU you tiresome knob and just enjoy the song if you're cool enough to do it without showing off the fact that OH MAN you know who the fuckin ny dolls are.
This is definitely the most important and the "punkest" single in punk rock history, by the "punkest" band ever. And it's my favourite 7" punk record ever, too.
I bought a used copy of this in about 1982 and it had "Ricky James" written on the cover. I can't be sure but I think it was their original drummer who they kicked out for being a psycho. He later was in Flipper for a little bit plus The Sleepers. He died in 1994.
here are some other sf punk bands from the 70s! Screamers The Avengers The Mutants The Nuns Tuxedomoon No Sisters The Units Alter Boys Dead Kennedys X-iles Black Flag
Did this record make it to England at the time? 'Cos it could be a coincidence but it sure sounds like The Vibrators had heard this before they did Pure Mania.
@BCThunderthud Where the fuck can you download this for um a mp3 player or something why doesnt good music liek this ever be on some sort of shit i mean fuck im stoned

@MrEdyoulis His name was Ricky Williams, but that doesn't necessarily mean "Ricky James" isn't the same guy. And he died in 1992, on November 21st.

This single was a hit in England, and was reviewed by the most important musical zines and magazines. I'm sure The Vibrators loved it :)
The first californian punk rock single EVER, and, according to me, the "punkest" record (and band) EVER!

Groundbreaking. Too bad the cover is better known, but Thurston was only trying to honor them.
