  • uhhhh, doom? no doom? good call on elzhi, but what about mos, lupe, but the dudes played here def are getting slept on.

  • 3/7, and really its 2/7, because i really like J-Elec personality ,more than his flow, however thanks for putting me on to shad and elzhi, the rest of them are just 1998 remixed. Bliss.

  • this aint in order. at that time if i had to put it in order, i wudda said, 1 shad 2 elzhi, 3 seez mics 4 one be lo 5 tiye phoenix 6 akrobatik 7 jay electronica. but that was a year ago.

  • forgetting Lupe The Fiasco my dude...

  • @deadly6havoc lupe is tight but i kinda think hees under the Illuminati's balls... now immortal tech thats a different story

  • @maximayque listen to Lupe Fiasco BMF... lupe is the one whose said he'll never selll out since day one half his songs he mentions god....

  • wheres mos def? he HAS to be on this if you're mentioning best in hiphop.

    The Roots/Black Thought as well.

If you dont know them, checkem out man

  • mos def fell off. black thought, i havent checked for his recent shit

  • wheres celph titled

  • im not a fan of celph titled

  • @nemesis700 strange...cuz celph is 1000x iller than half these dudes in this video, for real.

  • we got different likes. im not a fan of celph. im a fan of these 7 mcs tho. some of em kinda fell off as of now tho. im not fuckin wit jay elec or maybe one be lo anymore. lo seem like he ran outta steam. if im bein honest, celph is totally corny.

  • @nemesis700 yea opinions, we all have them. i'm not sure though an opinion could deny that from what i've heard of that "1990 now" album that there isn't a record in 2010 better than it and i'm positive i won't be the last person you hear say such a thing...blah blah... corny this, corny that... yet its the talk & rave of the scene right now.... things that make u go hmmmmmmmm... NEXT

  • well you know, ive heard a couple tracks off it and i didnt like it lyrically. to me, it sounded distinctly average. you should check out this album 'broken clock - skeleton key'. you can listen to it on bandcamp.

  • @nemesis700 pffffttt average? hahah.. maaan youre just one of those celph haters...dude could kick a rhyme ghost-written by your precious "elzhi" and you'd still say you weren't impressed. celph smokes almost everybody out here on style, wittyness and cleverness...and from what i've heard on this album, he ain't just doing battle shit...if u dont like the dude, just say u dont like the dude..but why bother critiquing his lyrics if you're gonna hate anyway? makes no sense.

  • why cant i say the reason for my dislike? i dont pre judge, i listened to some songs off 1999 and i didnt like it lyrically. you think he's witty and i think hes corny. hes forcin himself to try to be funny when if its natural its sounds so much better and actually turns out to be funny a la Kool Keith. im no hater, i just pass judgement upon rappers.

  • @nemesis700 kool keith is the THE most forced for-the-sake-of-making-abstract-lyrics rapper in history. the difference is celph's tongue-in-cheek humor is meant to be taken as campy, whereas kool keith's approach to making record after record, talking about "the industry" and pee-pee stains comes off insanely corny and contrived. keith takes 5 minutes to write a song and you can tell. i like keith for what it is, but purely based on skill celph is a monster above him. astronomically above....

  • we got different feeling about what contrived and forced really is. seem like you dont really get it. check out his songs 1977, kiss my ass, lovely lady (beatjunkies mix), the forum wearing make up, new york city, plastic world, feel about you, tight pants and skinny legs. shits effortless laugh out loud funny. shits natural, it aint no punchline like a halfass comedian. read or watch any one of his interviews. tho it could be that we both got different types of senses of humour.

  • first you forgot eminem ofcourse. second need beats to spit on check ma channel G

  • My bad kid. I see Vin on there.

  • No Vinnie Paz? Jus?

  • i dont like diabolic's delivery nor his rhymeschemes. and no, there arent at least 10 rappers on the same plateau as these 7. maybe 1 or 2 would miss out when i make a new list, Eternal Rhyme is definitely going to be on my next list. but the rest? nahh there is no competition

  • @nemesis700 what? have u heard below the heavens its probaly top ten albums of the 2000's

  • i heard it. the lyrics were average. the beats were top class tho, same with johnson and johnson

  • @Leftbehind727 Blu - simply amazing

  • ive heard three albums he did. the dude is average at best

  • Damn! Hip Hop is Hip Hop and it's always gonna morph into a different feeling, a different sound, and a different way of life. Every 1 that commented on this vid gots to be at least 40yrs old or in their 30's. I say that cause all these artist have an old skool feel. They all nice, but I cant listen to these guys for too long. IDK y but I just cant. Im a 80's baby so I was born into hip hop and the 90's was Hip Hop 4 me. I love BIG,NAS,PUN,THE LOX,2PAC,SNOOP,ICE CUBE,BIG L,OUTKAST,JAY-Z,SCARFACE

  • @HolidayMell 8BALL & MJG, 50, LUDA, A.Z.,BEANS,TWISTA,M.O.P.,BONE THUGS, just to name a few cause the list is endless and the love for hip hop is strong. Not to knock any of these dude in the vid, but it just aint the best to my ears and to what I feel. Like Rakim and KRS1 is dope, but I just cant sit and listen to these guys for long periods cause it wasnt my Era of hip hop, even though I think Rakim has spit some of the dopest shit I ever heard, I just cant rock they joints for days. Hip Hop

  • @HolidayMell Today is just wired to me cause it aint my era I guess... I cant listen to Gucci Mane, OJ da Juice Man, Wacka Flacka, Jeezy, Solja Boy and the rest of them Solja Boy imitators, I just cant bump them joints for too long. Like I'm guessing that the viewers of this vid cant listen to Curtis Blow and go wow this joint is really dope. Im just saying? It just want your era when u fell in love wit hip hop. You respect it, but I bet u aint bumpin that ish in ya iPod all day. The bottom line

  • @HolidayMell is that hip hop evolves and as it evolves it has its era and its unique feeling to it. I just came to that conclusion, I guess I'm having an epiphany.LOL. U just gotta accept hip hop for where it goes and how it changes and love it for what it is. This era of hip hop is the hardest to accept as hip hop IDK y, but its hip hop. It is what hip hop is TODAY! I Just wanna see what it's gonna morph into next. HA! I cant front though Jay Elect hit a nerve, homie is ill. Im just ranting LOL

  • some songs and artists transcend eras. audio two - top billin, ultramag, rakim kane, g rap, all them cats from the 80s, i listen to them and im 23.

  • @nemesis700 Yeah IDK who you talkin about besides Rakim and Kool G Rap and im 24 so.. ANd I cant name 1 song of theirs.Transcend? Just cause u listen to them means they transcend eras? Ask the youth if they know who these rappers are. Fuck yet alone ur 23 ask how many hip hop heads in your age bracket if they know Ultramag, cause I have no idea who that is.Songs become timeless not artist.

  • i was speakin from a personal point of view. i like songs and artists from the 80s and 90s. i like artists from the 00's. AND i like rappers from the '10's. if a artist is good, than it doesnt matter what year they dropped their music. that Ultramagnetic Mcs album from 88 gets alot of play from me. so does De la soul and Tribe. I might be in the minority, but there are those out there my age who feel the same way.

  • @nemesis700 You absolutley right!

  • so wheres freddie foxx?

  • Food for thought!

  • to Tiye'll rip Nicki Minaj to piesces and feed her to the tiger sharks for real lol

  • royce 59 is da best ever. nigguhs need to recognize dat mans greatness. hitm up nd ull see wat i mean.

  • he's garbage

  • @xTrippYxHippYx royce is trash

  • we speak the same language

  • @nemesis700 lol.niggas dont have a clue what lyricism is anymore

  • who comes in at 7minutes

  • Jay Electronica. Song is called Eternal Sunshine.

  • @nemesis700 Goodlooking out thought it was him. You hear the ghost of christopher Wallace yet by him. I could have done without diddy though
