I'm an Economics grad, and it's true that high demand and low supply will raise the price. The main reason is the external factor that marijuana is still, regardless of legal/illegal status, viewed as an illicit thing that is hard to obtain, so people can charge whatever they want basically. Those who set the price 20 years ago made it stick- who would lower their price when the demand is just as high at the higher price? It's also responded to inflation a bit. (a dollar went further before)

its all about supply and demand. as long as the demand is high and the supply is low ur gonna see people charging crazy amounts for 1/8ths and 1/2 oz's. legalization will only bring the price down if it is legalized on a national level and the crops can be grown without the feds shutting it down.only when u get the big factory style farms producing huge harvests, and that wont happen as long as its still illegla federally

$50 an eighth isn't really too steep. I live on the east coast an pay about $90 a quarter for some really good quality herbals.

Every once in a while a real dank strain like some Granddaddy Purp or some White Widow or something will come through, and those strains are always more expensive, but it's worth it for the treat.

At the end of the day, it's not about how much money you spend on your meds, its about the effect that the meds have on you.
