You can definitely "knee it up". Look up Ichiban, aka Koichi Ninomiya's earlier fights and you can see him TKO ( the fight was cancelled when the other fighter was deemed unable to continue) his opponent w. repeated knees to the head...Ouch.

No face punches. Pretty much everything else goes. They take the stance that any wack job off the street can master punching to the head, only someone can skill can do it with their feet. Way more refined than MMA.; you can't just jump in the ring w. a steet fighting background. Look up Mike Ninomiya if you want to see a sick roundhouse knockout in the same style of tournament.
I remember Koichi when he was a little boy......so cute. I used to take karate lessons there....but I got too old and moldy! I wish they had geriatric karate! hee hee. OSU!
No head puches? Why not try their crushing kicks , knees & body blows with the fist and elbows by a properly seasoned full contact fighter from the Enshin Sabaki schools?
Most bar brawls use sucker punches , so do not ever compare that to a properly executed punch or strike from these fellows.
Enshin , Seido , Suio & Ashihara Full Contact Karate fighters are known as Street Fighters by Sosai Oyama himself when he saw the skills and power of his own students over the other karate fighters
Enshin was created by Jōkō Ninomiya, a well known kyokushin fighter all through the 70ies and in 78 he became the all-japan tournament champion.
In 1980 he joined Hideyuki Ashihara in splintered out from kyokushin to form Ashihara karate -where Ninomiya was the "second in command" of the style. In 1988 Ninomiya split with Ashihara to form his own style which he named Enshin karate.
In fighting it differ from kyokushin mainly in that you are allow to grab, hold and pull the opponent
muay thai will destroy this shit!
