One can be an apostle to a work, if called by God to start a work. He is not an apostle in the literal sense. For he was not of the 12 orginial apostle who were hand taught in bodily form by Jesus Christ. Bishop Mason was the Chief Apostle to the work of the Church of God in Christ.

What you have just noted are examples of COGIC's training in the area of Interpersonal Skills. Respect for our elders is very important in the COGIC. When one is humble enough to acknowledge a person, they are LESS likely to disrespect them. I know the difference my friend between BIBLICALLY HONOURING someone N leadership vs. FALSE humility & MAN using MANIPULATION N the name of Interpersonal Skills 2 rule OVER the LORD's FLOCK or using flatter 2 b favored 4 the next opportunity 2 get a 5 minute sermon!
& I did talk 2 the Elder at my Church who was once n the COGIC about celebrating CH Mason's Birthday he said he HIMSELF never seen it as U say also, he is old school COGIC 2. Mayb I seen something on the WEBSITE I misunderstood.
I was not present at that service, therefore I can not say for sure that you are reading more into it. I can only say that it is a formality to recognize certain people in the church before you testify or bring the message. I hope that your concerns are coming from a pure place. God is doing great things for COGIC and the devil is not happy.
Many people are attacking COGIC for no valid reasons, but we will all be held accountable for our tongues, so let's be slow to speak...
I have no personal vendetta against COGIC..I am not part of any denominational church NOR do I pledge allegiance 2 Christianity!!!
I did mention that the COGIC was the ONLY church that I had been 2 where I seen the GLORY SMOKE shek-in-ah....BUT that still doesn't stop me from declaring the TRUTH against error when I see it!There is a spirit of MAN RULING OVER MAN N the COGIC & u guys hv strayed n2 letting women rule N the CHURCH OVER MAN. & I already know every word will b taken N2 account!
Also I did learn a principle from one of the COGIC top officials Bishop McKinney(San Diego)..He was invited 2 a service 2 speak he arrived B4 the Pastor I told him he could go into the Pulpit to wait for my Pastor but he refused! AFTER THE FACT I understood why...
So I have no vendetta against COGIC but it is still full of American Christianity & whoever wrote the Doctrine Belief about GOD has NO UNDERSTANDING about the REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST! THE TRINITY IS TOTALLY PAGAN....Jn.17:3

I took a piece of paper one day and wrote CHRIST on it and showed to everyone, I took that same piece of paper and wrote over it baptist, cogic, methodist, apostolic, etc. After I did that you could not see the word Christ as clear as you could at first. I did it to prove that we push and promote all of our doctrinal and denominational beliefs so much that people can't even see Christ anymore. People let's stop fighting each other over petty mess!

Time nor space will not allow clarification of this great man that the Lord used in a manner to further the gospel of truth. This verse is not talking about the ROLES or QUALIFICATIONS of a minister, elder, man or woman in church. Go back to Galations 3:26 to see what the rest of the verses are talking about. "26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith" did you see any roles, church titles, or qualifications here?

The Bible says women should remain silent (1 Corinthians 14:34) The Bible says we are called Christians (Acts 11:26) not Apostolic. I think it is such a shame that so called "Christians" are on youtube arguing about doctrine and denominations. No one cares if you you are COGIC, Apostolic, Catholic, Lutheran, or AME. Because at the end of the day it all equals DIVISION! and Jesus didn't die for division or distention among "Christians". This service was held at the dedication service of Hinsley Temple COGIC(now New Hope) in Atlanta ,Ga. This church was pastored by the late Bishop Hinsley who was the Jurisdiction prelate of Central Georgia...many pioneers were at this service.

In fact we go all the way to AD33 in the days of acts, thank God for the likes of BIshop Mason who read the bible and was spirit led to start COGIC in 1897 and organised it in 1907 after he recieved the holyghost!

One can be an apostle to a work, if called by God to start a work. He is not an apostle in the literal sense. For he was not of the 12 orginial apostle who were hand taught in bodily form by Jesus Christ. Bishop Mason was the Chief Apostle to the work of the Church of God in Christ.

I literally watched a dialouge on YOUTUBE between a believer that was raised in THE CHURCH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (C.O.O.L.JC) & the CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST (COGIC)..The one raised in the COOLJC said they were a LAWSONITE....Since the COOLJC Organization was started by Robert C. LAWSON....The ONE from the COGIC org said they were a MASONITE...
This was not the last time I heard COGIC members say they are MASONITES,even n HUMOR they MEANT IT.

I have been 2 several COGIC meetings/services...The young preachers that had 2 speak OR even some of the older preachers that got a chance 2 speak...They spent at least 2-3 minutes of their time LITERALLY...Saying...I thank Bishop so & so & I thank District Elder so & so..& Superintendent such & such...& Bishop so & so 4 this oppurtunity & even Missionary such & such...& my District such & such 4 such & such..
It is a blessing 2 honor leaders BUT in TRUTH not in denominational MANIPULATION!

What you have just noted are examples of COGIC's training in the area of Interpersonal Skills. Respect for our elders is very important in the COGIC. When one is humble enough to acknowledge a person, they are LESS likely to disrespect them. We are taught to be thankful and grateful for every opportunity and to be careful not to develop a spirit of entitlement.
Everything is based on how we perceive it. It is wise 2 question things b4 commiting, but at some point we must choose.

I was not present at that service, therefore I can not say for sure that you are reading more into it. I can only say that it is a formality to recognize certain people in the church before you testify or bring the message. I hope that your concerns are coming from a pure place. God is doing great things for COGIC and the devil is not happy.
Many people are attacking COGIC for no valid reasons, but we will all be held accountable for our tongues, so let's be slow to speak...

Also I did learn a principle from one of the COGIC top officials Bishop McKinney(San Diego)..He was invited 2 a service 2 speak he arrived B4 the Pastor I told him he could go into the Pulpit to wait for my Pastor but he refused! AFTER THE FACT I understood why...
So I have no vendetta against COGIC but it is still full of American Christianity & whoever wrote the Doctrine Belief about GOD has NO UNDERSTANDING about the REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST! THE TRINITY IS TOTALLY PAGAN....Jn.17:3
