I did not like this film at all. It was impossibly hard to follow as neither character was introduced and the translation was just sentences. I only understood once I read the plot and reviews that match this film. Also the choice in music was interesting to say the least.

I don't quite agree with you. I really think Sokurov did a excellent job. I love this movie so much. may be try to rewatch this movie alone and, you will find the way Sokurov tells story is so touching and sensitive.

the thing about this vidio that touched me so much was its tenderness and the emotion its a real peace of art and very unusual content although i think it says alot about what is abnormal about so called taboo or normality rarther than the other way around after all the over whelming factor in this film is love and i realy felt it too ,,so great ,there should be more of this sort of emotion in the real world between all sexes.

ok so there no sex but which dad would cuddle up with his son while they are naked...signs of incest!! the dad definitely has unresolved sexual feelings towards his son...and the son to a certain degree may have the same feelings towards his dad but i guess in the end both of them realizes it has to end!! anyways its good that a dir can address this issue which is very taboo in practically every culture...i guess he's trying to make a point that incest is unacceptable.

i was reading about this movie. !!.. it seems so interesting... but is kinda controversial cause is a father-son relationship, but if you look a lil bit closer you will find some romantik relationship signs!!. even when in a interview, the director took all that speculations down, i still think is beautiful movie full of love. at the end of time, that's the only important thing.
