  • I won't pretend to really grasp any of this, but my world just became a whole lot more interesting.

  • SPARTICLES! What is your profession?!? AUUUU!

  • well, I wanna hear what Giorgio Tsoukalos has to say about this before I make any judgments...

  • @jimksa67 Or Vishna! Dont forget him.

  • @jimksa67 I can t tell if you are being ironic :D

  • @Matzes God's truth Matzes- check out chuck missler teachings on the bible utube- the best and no bs only way out of the matrix is through what Jesus did on the cross He said: No man comes to the Father except through me' narrow door eh?

    shalom

  • @jimksa67 thats hilarious

  • @Matzes the fool in his heart says there is no God

  • @jimksa67 i don't mind whether people believe i god or not, but the fact that you are "promoting" god and jesus and their existence on a scientifique video is just sad you know...

  • I'm a bit strung out after looking at all these videos....

  • I think that before the universe there was no laws of the universe, making no laws saying that the universe can't be created. And you ask what happend to the anti-matter, what if that moved in a other dimension, making to exact paralell oposites of the same universe.

    Just guessing for "m-theory":

    Matter-theory

    Membrane-theory

    Multiverse-theory

  • Is this what they mean by being brain fucked? This is some sick stuff! WOW

  • Fermilab looks like a old paddock compared to CERN.

  • the whole extra dimensions thing kind of makes some sense to me, when you take into account the behaviour of quantum entangled particles, where one state changes in synchronisation with another, regardless of distance.. the particles could actually be connected in some way in another dimension where the particles are still next to each other, or interacting with each other in some way. the implications of string theory are astounding really if they are true.

  • I want more parts when they discover more dimensions!

  • If we can understand all this, then we can reverse engineer it and create a new one.

  • The word 'theory' might be a little optimistic here: The whole thing is so speculative, it really seems to be something cobbled together and popularized merely because it can't be immediately disproved. Bit like finding a body in the street, and arbitrarily deciding it was hit by a lime-green ford focus, driven by a one-legged Greek plumber. Just because that scenario can't be instantly ruled out, doesn't mean it's true...or even that it's a worthwhile line of enquiry.

  • thumbs up if sparticles look like skittles

  • I followed this through the universe being a giant French Horn, I followed this through the universe being a giant loaf of bread... But when he said "called... Sparticles" the penny eventually dropped. Great spoof! Really had me going there...

  • I almost pissed myself, but thats okay, soon we'll be able to vibrate the strings to a "Frequency" that turns my piss into gold... so i just made a million dollars... in the future.

  • 8:32 why is there a skater in the street?

  • @ReconSniper54 because he's a fearless bastard

  • Those godamn Swedes!!

    SVEN!!

  • dude im like 30min away from fermi lab:0 i never knew that.

  • Mmmm, skittl- uh, I mean sparticles...

  • @ogniank So what exactly is a string?

  • I loved this documentary.... thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK, got it.

now how do i make money ?

  • @camillo1234 i dont think money is the answer for everything.

  • @ADragonTale technically it is, cuz the you wouldnt be able to make a particle accelerator without money

  • @seriouslyImmature camillo is talking about earning, you are talking about spending, 2 different animals. Theses guys didnt spend or get a dime when they started working with this string theory deal. you get it now?

  • @ADragonTale lol i wasnt talkin to camilo i was talkin to adragontale so my comment still applies. and yes they didnt give a dime but they must have used some resorces which cost money... everything in our world leads to money in order to receive answers buddy

  • @seriouslyImmature i guess we agree to disagree on this one, lol.Maybe i understand what you are saying, money is a powerful tool, but not the main one. "everything in our world leads to money in order to receive answers buddy" man, we are in big trouble if everyone thinks the same.but i respect your point of view, maybe i dont know how to explain mine.

  • @ADragonTale hahahaha i was jst doin this for the sake of argument lol i wasnt being serious at all.. dont respect my point of view beacuse its false my point of view is wayyyy to complicated to explain in words ahahahaa

  • @seriouslyImmature anyways, we had a nice long ass conversation lol

  • @ADragonTale cant say it was long but sure hahaha

  • good thing that shakira's videos get 100+mil views :) cat anyway there can't be 177000 smart people on this planets ,you can realize that by reading this comments :)

  • DMT-Thoery.

  • Hehe 11 parts to M-Theory. Good one ogniak.

  • I'm excited for the future.

  • @jshowa2 thats fuckin funny

  • god are we stupid like a child that walks into a movie and asks a million questions, and still dosnt get the plot.

  • Okay im not very smart but one thing pop'd into my head, instead of other parrallel universe colliding to hit us with emmence energy as they said, what if they were giving off huge amounts to us because thats the only thing that we know can travel off the planes, so what if that is what sets a domino effect for us instead of our plane hitting another. please get back to me im curious that is all. dont want to seem ignorant which i am

  • OCEANO IS THEORY!!

  • Awesome documentary! The presentation style was great, and the visual effects were stunning. Thanks for putting it up!

  • No, I'm Sparticles.

  • This was the most comprehensive explanation of string theory I've seen so far. For once it actually answered more questions than it raised.

    Thank you for uploading.

  • I want to know if the scientists are considering 3 meters to be equal to 3 meters on a brane - especially because it appears to be wiggling the measurements constantly

  • @pranab69 wut?

  • Fucken badass, this just blew my mind and opened it wide.

  • @yodog991ify

    Like a membrane :)

  • @TheSnowEater Yep lol.

  • Failure is always a possibility. FUCK!!!!

  • Something tells me, the animator didnt understand a single thing he told us. In fact he WAS READING ! By the way ... can you even think about how much much math and works is hidden beneath all we heard ... And i tough my math class was hard !

  • It is going to be at least another 100 years. Atleast another 500 years. Atleast another 1,000,000 years, if we make it that far.

  • 7 people are hungry after watching this video because of the bread.

  • @aom9010 Damn bread.

  • @bttllp 1d is limitation to a single plane(pair of directions), 2D limited to 2 planes(4 directions, 3D limited to 3 plane(movement within/along and rotation upon these planes allow us to see all dimensions/directions, other those that requires more than one point of reference, like 4D the ability to see the front and back of something requires a mirror or communication with an external point of reference.

  • @optionsnone Eyes. 1D visual cortex, 2D cyclops, 3D stereo vision cross referenced with visual cortex. 4D you would need 3d plus an eye on a stalk (like the carrot on a donkeys stick) antenna.

  • Maria Spiropulu is one hot physicist ... i'dd smash some atoms with here anytime

  • whether we find out string theory is fact or fiction at least their are many people trying to figure it out.

  • Strings? Well if you saw energy move in a "circle" at the speed of light in that small scale you might mistake it for a string... If you could look at an atom while it falls into a black hole you might discover something. Or perhaps direct the sun's combined output into a nucleus. Would have been fun.

  • Wasn this program made before the LHC collider?

  • @madridisinSpain

NOTICE THE PROGRAM REFERENCES THE LHC BEING BUILD. DERrp

  • @madridisinSpain Looks like it.. Hm.

  • i cant even concebe more the 4 dimensions

  • Comment removed

  • If we consider a beam of light in cross section, we see a circle with information/signals(frequency modulated) within. So related to dimensions lets give each signal a direction of motion through the centre (say 12 - 6 clock face ref.) . If each and every frequency has its own plane through zero then infinite bandwidth and infinite dimensions within a 2D space, depending on radius of beam. So by picking off frequencies at each degree you have ultimate bandwidth.

  • I'll never look at a piece of bread the same way again.

  • @ibaad92 i will eat the shit out of them right now

  • how old are these videos?

  • @mancno1 At least 3 years, but my guess is around 5. I'm curious to see some of these videos involving the 3.5 TeV LHC collisions.

  • 1. Boil water

    2. Dip Teabag

    3. Let cool

    4. Sip slowly

    5. Repeat as needed

  • THIS, IS, SPARTICLES!!!

  • BUFFALOES ARE THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING

  • @optionstone. Oh very intelligent answer! Good for you, did that make you feel smarter by stating the obvious? I had no clue that light changes speed in different media! Here, I'll give another example for who ever doesn't know that matter changes speed in different media:

    - fucking faggotts like you who want to make themselves feel smarter by giving an over explained answer on YouTube.

  • @900bigd Thanks for the intelligent input, I feel a whole lot smarter after reading that, I hope you are proud of yourself.

  • Oh boy, I bet those super symmetry parties will be wild.

  • check out TED Talk by Lisi on E8 theory... Lisi argues we'll never find "sparticles" and proposes his own theory of everything....which is way easier to follow, and accounts for strings

  • @Cowbair no it doesn't account, in fact he rject the whole idea of string just like lee smolin

  • So one episode for every dimension? Clever.

  • Sparticles?? WTF!?

  • wtf, my brain herts.

  • what series is this?

  • eleven episodes, eleven dementions

  • I think string theory dimensions are possible directions of movement. Take 0 as reference on a graph and using axes of fixed length make a ball. There are infinite directions as there are dimensions. 3D is related to directions, forward - backward, left - right, up down. So why is infinite dimensions so hard to comprehend ?

  • @optionsnone it's not just infinite directions though

a 3 dimensional coordinate describes all of those dimensions you are imagining

string theory requires more directions than that

    for example

even the ant crawling clockwise, thats just a cute analogy

if there really are other dimensions which we can't see, and mass exists in them, why isn't their gravity effecting movement in our universe

  • also we can see and experience and describe infinite directions

we can't do that for dimensions

  • If we are compressing at the same rate as the planet we would not notice gravity reducing as the earths surface area reduces because the same thing would be happening at the same rate to us and our equipment.

Could it be that the reason no matter where you measure from, the epicenter of the big bang always results in the eyepiece of the telescope is not because the universe is expanding, but that everything on earth is shrinking ?

  • final part ):

  • I live on uranus

  • thanks for that comment, unrealized knowledge is a secret for the moment. Purity is what may be necessary, axes to grind technology to perfect and sell is not a pure intent...to much ego to much me, I and so forth. Humble true thought will unlock these secrets and then may still remain secret because of the simple fact that disclosure may not be palatable to the researcher. Hopefully this will not be the case

  • I just discovered sparticles contact me !!

  • Nice documentation, thank You for uploading!

  • Great series.

  • Awesome.

  • A thought: As a result of the reality of irrational numbers, maybe in a cosmic sense the reality that we live in is also irrational. Never repeating at least apparently, and never giving up the secret except to those who are pure. I know it doesn't sound scientific but it is logical. Anybody?

  • @woodragger secrets are not to be kept in the universe, only knowladge to be realized, and purity is but a perspective, otherwise, logical

  • The average diameter of atoms can be extrapolated from the division of planet earth's diameter versus its age. That number is 3 billionths of one inch, or 90 billionths of one millimeter and it represents the tiniest linear dimension that may be calculated from two real values within a time period of a fraction of a second a second, or slightly over one second. That time period i've identified as a cycle of evolution. While an atom is being incepted at a given point, many others are also forming

  • @jqs1943 Kinda sounds like you broke from the golden rule to physics. Good example though, physics is an awesome subject to get into.

  • An atom is a very simple devise of nature that is made up by families of frequencies that crash with other families of frequencies and weave into intrinsic lattices of matter. By the standars of my theory, they can be synthetized to a predetermined outcome at an accelerated pase that would prove to be faster than the speed at which nature produces them. The equipment needed is relatively inexpensive in contrast to a particle collider that will eventualy lead to nowhere other than to bankrupsy.

  • @MrBenCaesar What is your theory on the universe then?

  • 11 episodes... 11 dimensions o_O

  • evidence by absence...thats kind of like saying heaven is real because of the absence of my life after i die. i'm liking string theory more and more :)

  • @buxombabyNJ it's not the same. in this universe mass never disapears. this would be an exception. mass could disappear if you turn a MATTER-string into a FORCE-string by changing the way it vibrates.

the string would then float off out of the universe. it's gravitational force would seem weaker to us. which means, mass was turned into energy (mass conservation fail) and that energy isn't at 100% for us (energy conservation fail). i don't know for sure but that seems like a way to know...

  • @NURBS4life God - the cause of everything will remain a mystery

We cannot comprehend One who created all

Especially if we cannot even begin to comprehend all 11 dimensions which seem so "obvious" according to string theory.

  • the sad thing is that it took eleven episodes for them to prove to me that there is one hot woman that is a physicist. They should have shown her to me 20 years ago then I would have solved this thing by now and then we would still be eating ho ho's and ding dong's and saying "now what do we do".

  • Supersymmetry is not a prediction of string theory, Supersymmetry is its own theroy, stop claiming shit for string theory

  • Just like we cant go before the start of everything

  • How is it the same? There is NO evidence of god what so ever. No possible way it works. M-theroy works mathematically the only reason we cant get physical evidence yet is 1 our lack of ability to see that small 2 how current technology is minimal and 3 time. Honestly ppl should stuf about "god". Its an ignorant and pathetic idea that came from people with practically no iq. Its like absolute zero, we cant reach it because to reach it we need to go beyond it, but we cant go below the lowest

  • Holy shit. God does not exist people need to stop saying he does. The idea of a god creating everything in 7 days or W.E. is just bs and also it came about in the time of people with no physics, low iq, and lack of any science. It is acceptable for them to believe in a "creator" cause everything was like magic. If i did a card trick they would think im god. But in this day and age ppl need to stfu about god. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING TO SAY BELIEVING IN GOD IS THE SAME AS BELIEVING IN M-THEROY.

  • I wanna eat a sandwhich and say "Looks like i just ate a parrallel universe".

  • @fushion999 or maybe caused an apocalypse, XD

  • @fushion999

In a parallel universe you just did.

  • @falwk Wouldn't that indicate infinite parallel universes?

  • @fushion999 In that sense, I shit many parallel universes. I'm a creator then.

  • that girls iss hooooottt

  • let's play guitar now

  • THIS IS SPARTICLLLEEEEE

  • silly bands theory !!!!!!!

  • It is difficult to imagine that our brain, that our thinking, our psychological interaction could exist in such a trivial 3D world. More dimensional and complicated world intuitive seems to be real. The string theory seems to be a good step toward explaining our world. However I am convinced that we never explain how the world really work. We could never imply that something is elementary. Imply that something is elementary = imply that something is divine.

  • The universe is conspiring in your favor.

  • The universe is consciousness.

  • But here's my question. EVERYTHING has a beginning. Something has to have created something. Sure, there can be infinite universes, but what created the first brane and big bang? Is there an even higher dimension? and if so, what created that? Oh I wasn't sleepy. Now I have a headache.

  • Or prove it.

  • I think the string theory is real, due to the point of how many things defy our current laws of physics. There are many things not able to be explained by science alone. This Elegant Universe is not special. There is a one hundred percent chance of life, and if String Theory proves true, we prove we are not alone. gah! Now I feel REEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALYYYY small. As if stargazing creeped me ouenough, infinite universes and big bangs? I think that this could disprove god!

  • Thanks so much. Great series.

  • wow... i think that about sums it up.

  • What a beautiful accent... :3 i'm in love i tell ya...

  • I live right next to FERMI...too bad they are taking away funding for a lot of their programs.

  • @kerflop In fact, my understanding is that hey're shutting down the Tevatron. The US is, it seems, formally conceding leadership in this area to Europe. Another crack in the wall.

  • too bad they are stopping funding FERMI...jerks...

  • I am going to CERN for summer exchange. Cheese :)

  • 4:35 is that part of the scientific method for the quickest trajectory to discovery?

  • These guys are looking for a graviton, as if gravity has been proven to exist, it could just be caused by extra proton or neutron energy?

  • a i would love to see CERN

  • Somehow I feel smarter and a whole lot dumber at the same time. My BRANE hurts! Great vids! Thx for posting!

  • Cool concept. Thanks for posting this series in it's entirety.

  • that's great vedio . Thaks alot to physics

  • @hanialrashed spartical..sound slike a pokemon.

  • Great & intersting documental. Thanks.

  • excellent vids, great series, thanks so much. very educational.

  • 11 episodes :))

  • woah. wish this had a date on it.

  • Thank you so much Ogniank for posting this illuminating documentary it certainly has been fun to watch. Im an Architect and my work can get pretty boring at times..but watching and trying to understand the basic concepts of 'M-theory' has been refreshing to watch, it just shows how really small and insignificant humans on planet earth really are haha. Too bad it didnt address the issue of how this theory ties into Black holes..as far as my knowledge goes a black holes defies all laws of physics.

  • @clovelywindheaven If the string theory is right...black holes defy the laws of physics int his universe but maybe not in another. And if gravity can travel through the branes and black holes are pure gravity...figure that out.

  • There is no origin theory from both religion nor science that can explain how something was made from nothing. Something cannot be made from nothing. These theories are a waste of time and money. If you science butt-tards say that this is possible, then you just managed to prove religion's origin theory.

  • Difference between following science and religion is, you get something out of science. You advance what you know.

  • Why do physicists lie so much? I mean, its kind of funny to listen to them lie to keep their atom smashers funded. They must think we are dumb, they could lie much better if they didn't think we were so dumb.

  • Tell me, does M-theory help us figure out how to make a better condom?

  • THIS IS SPARTAAAAA... cles

  • This is the best scientific series i've ever seen on Youtube

  • There is no evidence for string theory, so by those rules believing in string theory and calling religious people naïve does not work together.

I am not a very religious man, but I don't go so far to say religion is retarded. M-theory appears to speak more to my imagination than anything else.

However, at this point string theory is just as unprovable as the existance of God.

  • @michielgrillet the beauty of science lies in it`s progression.New theories disprove old ones, but religion always stays the same.So many people find solace in religion simply because they are afraid to accept changes.

  • @EVERYtimeImHIGH I'm a science man myself, otherwise I wouldn't be watching this video. Everything and everyone is afraid to accept changes. In science there's a thing called confirmational bias.

If you say religion doesn't change you clearly don't know what happened in the world, look at the history of christianity. Christianity as a whole has come a long way: Protestantism, later the Reformation, Contra-Reformation...

Science is arrogant for thinking everything is explicable with science

  • @michielgrillet humans have evolved to look for patterns in everything which is the reason why everytime one can`t logically explain something, they start being metaphysical. All religions started as a cult,a belief,a mystical explanation of a natural occurence.Followers than spread the word and since science was underdeveloped at the time major religions emerged, more and more people converted. And yes, everything CAN be explained with science!

  • @EVERYtimeImHIGH followers "then" spread the word.

Definitely not everything. Science will never hold the absolute truth. Science embraces perfect models, for instance the table of Mendeljev. You can't see atoms, science relies on reflections and behaviour that they have a core etc. If you only trust your own eyes, you can't prove anything. You have to believe in radiation, vapour trails etc.

When people don't understand that, science is rendered useless.

Just morons going with the crowd.
