I have lived in Chengdu and am married to a Chinese woman. Truly the Chinese are amazing people. If I had not seen how fast they climbed up that building I never would have believed it!

The CDFD HQ and its Company 7 is just behind my home. Almost every day I can hear the siren of them and I can even analyze different vehicle. For example, the No. 1 engine has a loud air horn and its siren is a bit shorter than the other vehicles, the ladder truck has the loudest siren and the engine purchased from Germany has the longest and second loudest siren among all vehicles there. I feel exciting when they are coming out with that siren.

Wow, instead of using a mechanical ladder they either climb or use a portable ladder. Ballsy.

Well, the soldiers in China are usually like that. In China, most fireman are military police soldiers, that's why they were also called as "fire police".

And these guys are really brave. In 2003 (I remember so) there was a fire in Hengyang, Hunan Province, 23 fireman died when the building collapsed. Only one survived. They are real heros! Just like the FDNY!
