It seems to me if you are paying your mortgage you'll still be in your home not foreclosed on. Also when you're passing out money to borrowers like a drunken sailor I imagine there is going to be some sloppy paperwork. But the sloppy paperwork I get to keep my house defense seems a little on the weak side.

I practice this area of law. Most of the big firms don't do this kind of law b/c it is very complicated and not much $ involved. Clients are basically bankrupt, and the plaintiffs are loaded with money. The banks and their attorneys fight EVERYTHING. They run up costs and most people would rather walk then fight. The judges in many areas are brain dead. There are many good judges who are starting to see the light. We need the appellate judges to shut down MERS.
