A stroke takes "aggressive patience" to recover. One has to, daily, make (often ) micro improvements. Know that such improvements can be made through: exercise, informed feedback, healthy eating (including lots of fruits and veggies, and ample protein -- perhaps quality protein drinks), plenty of sleep (including a mid-day nap), and selective supplements. Note: At age 60, Sept. 2008. I had a major hemorrhagic stroke with hemiplegia on my right side.. I keep improving...
i feel sad =[

Billy,
My thoughts are for you...you may already be doing this but---
--try smelling pleasant odors 3 to 5x/day (smells you know you like, preferably food based).
--Also, try listening to upbeat "church/praise" music or Mozart 5 to 10 minutes, 2x/day with headphones, but only on your RIGHT ear.
--One last thing, try doing crossword puzzles and word search puzzles 5-10 minutes 2x/day.
Cheers.
