Get it? That is why its inane to say it, because if you don’t believe then there is no consequence to not worshipping the tyrant then she is not making any sacrifice by not worshipping him. So when she says I rather go to hell rather than worship a tyrant, in order for that to have impact, you have to accept that hell is real. Otherwise, the only alternative to worshipping a tyrant is to go to a mythical place. If hell is mythical, then going there is impossible. So it is neither good nor bad.
Now were getting somewhere. The difference between your analogy of life on Mars or Venus, and hell, is everyone agrees, Mars and Venus are real. Life on other planets is hypothetical but that doesn’t mean its definitely not there. You say if because you’re telling the chooser that life is there for the sake of the question.

@Proemed It's a hypothetical question, so it deserves a hypothetical statement. For example, IF life could be sustained on the other planets, would you rather live on Mars or on Venus? It's perfectly fine to answer that with Mars, but you wouldn't necessarily believe you could or had experienced it. It was never meant to be a very meaningful answer at all, because the question didn't demand one.

The reason that people are exempt from hell is because they have forsaken their sins, and put their trust in Jesus Christ the Messiah. Because he does love you, he wants you to love him also, but leaves the choice to you! God loves you so much that he gives you free will and a choice! And since a choice must have at least two options, if you don't choose heaven, then you must choose its opposite, hell!

Actually untill 1700 or so there was a special place between earth and heaven for babies that were not baptized yet and had died. But around 1700 or so the pope said that that was not very plausible and they cancelled it ^_^

the Bible says that God gave mankind free will simply in that God told man not to eat of the fruit of one tree...the choice is given...the opportunity to disobey is there...this is free will...even the message of the Gospel is free will...accept/reject Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven...predestination is understood as the all-knowing nature of God in that He knows who will accept/reject Him
So god created us knowing which ones would accept/reject him. Therefore he chose who would accept/reject him. God chose who would go to heaven and who would go to hell. Where is the free will again?
Just curious. I have yet to see anyone give a bible verse that proves it teaches free will. However, I know of many verses that imply predestination,but thats like the opposite of free will

If I was told I could go to heaven & a person next to me was being sent to hell, simply because he/she did not believe, I could not and would not go knowing another was going to suffer for eternity. I would however, offer to take that person's place, because no crime deserves torture forever. I'm with this woman when she says, she would not worship a tyrant. This god sounds evil to damn anyone for eternity. Are you sure you chose the right one? The fruits look pretty putrid from here.

So she is not offering to suffer instead of worshipping a tyrant, she is saying I don’t want to worship a tyrant, but I will not accept a real consequence for that, unless she admits hell is real. Get it? That is why its inane to say it, because if you don’t believe then there is no consequence to not worshipping the tyrant then she is not making any sacrifice by not worshipping him. Otherwise, the only alternative to worshipping a tyrant is to go to a mythical place. If hell is mythical, then going there is impossible. So it is neither good nor bad.

That doesn't make any sense does it? That is why stating what you rather do means you should have some belief in the alternative, in her case that is going to hell. So if you don't believe hell exist don't say I rather go there, because the only thing that validates that is a belief that hell exist.

@Proemed It's a hypothetical question, so it deserves a hypothetical statement. For example, IF life could be sustained on the other planets, would you rather live on Mars or on Venus? It's perfectly fine to answer that with Mars, but you wouldn't necessarily believe you could or had experienced it. It was never meant to be a very meaningful answer at all, because the question didn't demand one.

Also, many figures in the did similar if not worse acts then the Crusades, like Joshua and Moses and David, so the Crusades we justified along the same reasons the men in the Bible did.

If God wanted to force people to believe & serve he could do it in a split second if he wanted... but instead it's all about free will. @Golon13 Repent means to change your thinking. You carry the original sin, God warned Adam & Eve that they would die if they ate from the tree. When they disobeyed they sealed the fate of the world. But God was compassionate came to Earth and took the full weight of the punishment for that sin. Why are these atheists so overly-reactive? Are they so wound up about there beliefs (or lack thereof) that they can't function normally? I mean, who are you to tell me that my God doesn't exist and that I should rashly change my mind to your perspective? See Spanish inquisition... look at the more recent protests around the Muslim world over Danish Cartoons that resulted in the deaths of 140. He is making the point that "Not receiving Christ" is not what is sending souls to Hell. But rather, the unrepented sin in their lives, is what casts them into Hell from the judgement of Almighty God. He is right on on this theological point. The biggest anchor in his point is that it is purely biblical. Are you in or out?

Sin condemns us, but not accepting the gift of Christ is a sin in itself (and the only unforgivible one if you think about it)

I believe god was created by a more powerful god as a joke. God has been created specifically not to be able to know about this more powerful god who will eventually cast the less powerful one into a pit of torment. Can god be sure this more powerful god doesn't exist?

the original human sin was not trying to gain knowledge, it was disobedience, and trying to be like God, which is pride. after eating the fruit they were no longer innocent. they brought sin into the world, but each person on their own has sinned. so don't go blaming others for your own sin.

The reason that people are exempt from hell is because they have forsaken their sins, and put their trust in Jesus Christ the Messiah. I deserve to go to hell, but because of God's mercy, he has paid my death sentence himself, and has allowed me, and anyone else who repents and places their trust in Christ, to be spared the eternal torment of hell.

If god did not love you, then he would not care if you were saved or damned and just put everyone in paradise whether they deserved it or not! Heaven would be crowded with sinners and atheists who did not love god!
Because he does love you, he wants you to love him also, but leaves the choice to you! God loves you so much that he gives you free will and a choice! And since a choice must have at least two options, if you don't choose heaven, then you must choose its opposite, hell!
